Enjoyable experience. Unusual cocktails and spirits options to start. Octomore on the list? First time I’ve seen it in any restaurant. Started with oysters. Good variety. All fresh and tasty. Biscuit service was excellent. We had two different fish entrees. Liked them both. Dessert was their special cake. With an unusual digestif.
Visited this restaurant for the first time last night and was blown away. The food was so delicious, the atmosphere was awesome, and the service was impeccable. I will definitely be coming back here again!
My first time and it was outstanding service with delicious food and cocktails!!! Definitely coming back!!!
I made a reservation through Resy, the platform they use through their site. When we got there, we were sat fairly quickly. I ordered a Magic Hour cocktail, it was a tad sweet but it was good. We ordered the marinated sauteed crab claws and it reminded me of sweet fish sauce with mint leaves, which was pretty good. I ordered the Hanger steak as my entree. When I got it, it was slightly more rare than I'd like, I had to send it back to cook a little longer on the grill, my eggs I asked to be over medium but overcooked. When I got my steak back, it was perfect. It was my second time back, I got to try the oysters the first time, definitely recommend the raw sourced oysters & crafted cocktails.
Happened upon this outstanding restaurant a few nights ago during our work-cation in Mobile. Best oysters in Alabama and a delightful menu - from cocktails to desert. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed and appreciated the meal, staff, chef, and ambiance at Hummingbird Way Oyster Bar.
One of Mobile’s only restaurants offering a true dining experience. The ambiance is unassuming yet refined, and the Oakleigh location is so Mobile. Most importantly, the food is amazing. The chef uses familiar ingredients— cooking them perfectly and elevating them with thoughtful and interesting flavors. The handpicked wine list and creative cocktails round out the meal. This place is a gem.
I took my mom here for her birthday and we were very impressed! Prior to ordering, I was reminded by my mom that this is the chef’s passion and is why I was drawn to choose the tasting menu over the a la carte. Starting off, the chef was kind enough to accommodate changes to the first course, due to my mom being pregnant. While I had the oyster, she had the roasted beets. Both amazing! We also added stone crab claws…because have you had them? You can’t NOT order them. Second course we had the oyster “bisque”. It was the perfect amount of sweet and salty. It was also not heavy at all, which was great to have room for the main course. However, I could have had a quart of the soup for dinner. As for the grouper (main course) I was skeptical about the puree, but the chef again did not disappoint. The carrots, grouper, and puree paired perfectly. For dessert we had a biscotti and a chocolate spread (menu attached below for specifics). The biscotti was the best I have ever had, perfect perfect perfect. Disregard bad reviews, we had a great overall experience! After reading the website and finding out the ingredients are all LOCAL AND FRESH, the price does not matter to me. (IMO) If you enjoy a good meal, not scared of venturing out, and trying new things this is the spot for you! Definitely will be returning for more birthday dinners, next is my pawpaws in April. See you then!
Amazing place!! Every plate we had was top notch. The cocktails were great and reasonably priced. The service was also amazing. If you’re visiting or a local, you need to come here!!

We went for our anniversary dinner and were very excited about eating here as the menu looked very good. But unfortunately our meal was less than impressive. The biscuits with the whipped butter was AMAZING but we ordered fried crab claws and hanger steak and they were underwhelming at best. The crab was bland and when I spoke to the chef he said "you should have ordered the marinated". I shouldn't have, the fried batter should have had more flavor. The hanger steak? Cooked correctly but served over salted and lukewarm. Not to mention, the service was exceptionally slow - even though our server was very sweet and apologetic to us. I have been in the industry for nearly 10 years so I am well aware of when food and service are not up to par, whether it be from the actions of the service staff or the kitchen. I understand one-offs, but if the average bill for 2 is over $100, this is unacceptable. We will not be returning.
