So thankful for a gluten free bakery! I got the chocolate chip cookies with toffee and mini bodacious berry mini cake. The cookies are so thick & soft - always like they just came out of the oven. The cake was so delicious - my husband couldn't tell it wasn't a regular cake. Found out I can get their goodies in Fairhope at Kind Cafe or Page & Palette. Love love love this place!!
This isn't just an awesome gluten free bakery it's an awesome bakery. We were traveling and one of our party is allergic to gluten, we were looking for gluten free options for her. This was a highlight. Their cinnamon rolls were delicious. The gentleman that waited on us was extremely helpful and kind. I highly recommend stopping here if you have the opportunity.
I wish I could give this place 100 stars! My kids and I are gluten free and it’s usually really hard to find GF baked good that taste good. We’ve stopped at this bakery 3 times while passing through AL and have never been disappointed. All their pastries are so delicious! I love seeing the excitement in my kids’ eyes knowing they have so many options to choose from. We’ve had their cookies, raspberry and lemon bread and cupcakes and everything was amazing. Another plus is their customer service. Everyone is so nice and professional! This is a dream come true bakery for those of us with gluten allergies.
I can't believe I haven't done a recommendation yet. Guncles is amazing! The food is exceptional, and the coffee is always delicious. The cinnamon rolls and cakes are better than any traditional baked goods you'll find in the area. Also the owners and staff are all lovely people. Every visit feels special. I recommend them even to people without dietary restrictions.
I had to pull my car over after my first bite of their Blueberry-Lemon Friand. So many emotions washed over me as the lemon popped and the sweetness of the blueberries hit me. And the texture of this single treat was transforming. I had to snap out of my daze to realize that what I had just taken a bite of was gluten free and it felt impossible. It was TOO good if you know what I mean. Like did I accidentally misread the sign? Is this really GF?? I felt like I was dreaming and if the first 6 months of being Gluten Free was going to lead me to discover an amazing bakery like Guncles, then sign me up for life. (thx celiac) This trip from Orange Beach was well deserved. To meet with the bakers and understand their passion. What I missed is that this is no ordinary GF bakery. This is confection perfection! Over my next few weeks, I will be diving into my stash of Guncles breads, cookies and cakes. So far, each has been a mind blowing, taste bud adventure. I cry at every bite. I grin ear to ear at every bite. I am so amazed and so grateful to have been able to shop here and enjoy everything they offer.
Guncles is a must if you are celiac and in Mobile. Or not celiac. *edit THE CINNAMON ROLLS ARE HEAVENLY if you haven’t found a gf cinnamon roll since forever then you must RUN TO GUNCLES*I haven’t found a real oatmeal crème pie until I came here. Delicious, not to much crème in the middle and the spice combo in the cookie is perfection. And they are HUGE.The Raspberry Lemon Friand is delicious. Perfect amount of lemon in the cake which is moist, raspberry and heavenly. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Love Guncles and will definitely be ordering on line!!!
Perfection achieved. After years of eating gritty, dry, subpar gluten-free desserts, this place is my holy grail. The oatmeal raisin cookies were as good as my mother’s (sorry, Mom). The chocolate cake was decadently delicious. The cheddar garlic biscuits were incredible. And the only way the carrot cake could have been better is if the laws of physics were broken. Everything was fresh and moist, and the service was unparalleled. Seriously, if you want to see how gluten free should be done, do yourself a favor and stop by.
I had the cinnamon rolls, savory herb and cheddar buttermilk biscuits, and the blueberry lemon friands this weekend and they were phenomenal! I'll definitely stop by Guncles again on my next visit to Mobile.
Was given a variety of desserts from this company for my birthday from my son. Very happy with to finally taste some great products. Thank tou guys, much appriciated.
Little on the pricey side, but the cookies and cinnamon rolls will have me coming back for the occasional treat!I literally cannot tell these are gluten free without being already informed.Guncles proves gluten free baking has come a very long way from 10-15 years ago when I first started baking gluten free.
