We were seated at 5:30pm with no wait, atmosphere was relaxing and the restaurant was clean. Our server was pleasant and timely. We ordered the rosemary chicken and the chicken in dressing. Food was tasty and the prices were very reasonable. After 4 days of dinner disappointments at other restaurants. I would definitely recommend starting here. We were not disappointed.

We came in at the end of the lunch run. They still had enough servers to seats us right away. Had several home cook style meals available. We all ordered different items and was surprised when our food came so quickly. Everything was good size portions and tasted great. If you are looking for home style cooking, I would say this would be where you would want to go.

Very nice setting with good southern comfort food that doesn’t sacrifice quaility. The chicken fried steak, fried okra, and the to die for Tod’s Carrot Cake are great

Went here with local family member, based on suggestion after I said I wanted soul or southern food. They close at 8:30pm and we arrived about 7:45, so i was a little worried. Place was almost empty.I ordered chicken fried chicken, girlfriend had chicken fried steak, son had chicken strips, daughter had Mac and cheese.Usually I expect restaurants to skimp on the kids meals, but unfortunately (?) Those were the highlights of the meal. Both chicken fingers and Mac and cheese were good by kids meal standards, including tender chicken.Chicken fried chicken: Even in southern cooking, when everything is compartmentalized, where everything is in its own little cup or bowl, presentation matters. My cfc was a couple of underwhelming flat patties that looked like fat, flat, frozen fish sticks. It was lukewarm at best, along with my sides, spinach and mashed potatoes. None of that is appealing to me if not actually warm. My whole meal definitely went from freezer to microwave to table. Cornbread? Can it save the day? Not exaggerating, but took one bite and realized that I now truly knew what cardboard and sand taste like. This couldn't even be saved by warming in a microwave and putting butter on it. I can honestly say, without hesitation, that this was the worst corn bread that I have ever tasted in 50 years. This whole meal tasted like it was prepared by someone without a care in life. They didn't care about food or cooking. They didn't care about being proud of their work. They didn't care about representing the restaurant, Huntsville and The South through their food. The whole of The South should be ashamed for them. If I didn't know what real southern cooking was, and this was my first time in the South, I'd be traumatized for life. Notwithstanding, I am traumatized, but have the good sense to understand that this abomination of concocted various bits of hastily slapped together floor droppings does not represent the long, storied and proud history of fine southern cooking.Good day. Whoever made this food, bless your little heart.Addendum: Some will ask why I didn't complain to my fine waiter? He was actually really good, and deserves accolades for his fine service. It was after 8pm, I didnt want to cause a scene, and didn't want to embarras our family member who had suggested the place as being good.

If you think Cracker Barrel is good, then this place blows it out of the water, then snipes it out of the air. Ordered the catfish, which was perfectly breaded and fried. Fried okra wasn't soggy or cold at all! Mac n cheese was phenomenal, and turnip greens tasted like something memaw would make. Overall, definitely a place to come back to.Bonus points to Shani, she took care of us and made our experience even better. She deserves a raise!

The food is delicious, I had pot roast with potatoes and carrots. I added tomato, cucumber, onion salad and their Strawberry Pretzel Salad. I took home a slice of chocolate cream pie. Plus the unsweetened tea was great. My husband had the meatloaf, sweet potatoes casserole, black eyed peas, and fried green tomatoes. We selected rolls over cornbread.Walton's Southern Table is wonderful down home cooking.

This is not Southern cooking. I had the chicken and dressing. Not much dressing and the chicken tasted like it came from a can. The fried green tomatoes were very thin and very salty. My friend had the meatloaf and it really didn’t have a taste at all. The only thing I liked were the green beans and they weren’t cooked Southern style with pork.

My family and I were there yesterday. I had salmon patties, they were delicious. The food came out really quickly. Now as for the waitress, Elgitha I think is her name. She was snappy but no big deal, we had a lot of people, but what took the cake was her talking about my nephew because she thought we were all gone. She was talking to a coworker and had the nerve to call my 1 year old nephew NASTY. He’s 1 he eats like a 1 year old. That was unprofessional and disrespectful and we are just disgusted with her comments.

It's our new favorite place. Great variety of meats and veggies. Wine and beer available. Ask for less Salton fried okra and fried green tomatoes. Otherwise perfect home cooking. Great attentive service too

I've been here twice for lunch. The service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious. The pricing seems average/affordable. I recommend the chicken fried chicken. The strawberry pretzel salad is amazing and worth it.
