This was my first trip to a Schlotzsky's in a long time. This location is in Southwest Huntsville on Memorial Parkway. The sign is very visible and there is plenty of parking. The store is neat and clean. The employees we dealt with on this visit were helpful. There used to be a Reuben sandwich with pumpernickel bread. It is no longer available and the cashier said it is no longer available. There are a wide variety of sandwiches available. The bread is sour dough and has a unique flavor. The bread was fresh with an airy texture. The flavor is not bad but unlike most sour dough bread I have tasted. No doubt, the bread is one item that separates the restaurant chain from others like Subway, etc.The menu clearly lists what comes on each sandwich. I do not care for a lot of toppings on a sandwich. In this case, I held back on the pickle and onions. It came with a couple of cheese types. I thought I had ordered no cheese except for provolone but that was not communicated clearly and I ended up with cheddar and provolone. It also pays to read the menu clearly as the sandwiches have a number of additions unless ordered otherwise. In any event, it is not a problem to specify the items to add or delete from a sandwich. In this case, it appeared to be a communication problem. The roast beef was medium rare and appeared to be a good quality. It was not salty, which is good. If possible, I would get the sandwich with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and provolone cheese to provide more flavor from the beef—a personal preference that may not be widely shared—by eliminating the "special sauce" and the strong cheese. My dining companion had the turkey and avocado. Again, read the menu closely. In this sandwich, the turkey is smoked which usually means the meat is more salty as a result. For those who prefer a less salty meat, it would be wise to order the regular turkey. This location also has Cinnabons. They looked delicious and no doubt they are but very sweet with a sugary frosting. There is a separate display of these items near the cashier.
Had this place once a while ago, thought i'd give it another try while I was in the area. Definitely the best sandwich place i've ever had. The sandwiches come out perfectly warm and crispy.
I'm a frequent customer, but latelly they have been getting my drive through lunch order incorrect. Love the food, but there is this one person taking orders who wants to answer you before you say what you want and rush you along and that is the individual who get my order incorrect each time.
Ordered online, payed for my food. My wife was nearby so she went to pick it up. She had to pay, and got home with someone else’s order. Called and spoke with a person that evening and he called back. Said GM would either refund or remake the sandwiches. I live out of town so coming back that night was not going to work out. Came back Friday and the man at the register pretty much told me no. I pressed on showed proof of the order, phone calls etc. he went and pulled my receipt off of a bulletin board and called the manager. Then told me I had to bring in my bank statement. The manager said he cancelled out the order and returned the money to my card, but I still have the 50.00+ charge on my credit card, along with the 13.00 they charged my wife. In the end they did redo my sandwiches but not after several minutes of unnecessary arguing. I did not get my 13.00 back for that other food. Not sure what kind of sandwich it was, but it wasn’t something anyone in my house would eat. If you do an online order, better check it when you pick up.
BEST SANDWICH PLACE IN ALABAMA. The staff is amazing. They are helpful, sweet and always have a smile on their face. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would! If you're in town make sure to pay them a visit, you won't regret it.
Food tasted good, but was warm at best and definately not hot. Probably the biggest issue was the obvious false advertisement on their menu(see photo). When attempting to order, I was told that the item that I chose, which was plainly on the menu, was not available with that option. "Any item on the menu is supposed to be just that, any item. And this was something printed on the menu; no disclaimers anywhere around. Definately, dissapointing visit.
I really enjoy Schlozsky's. Anytime I have eaten here I have enjoyed it. This location is always clean and the staff is friendly. Try "The Classic". It is delicious. Highly recommend.
Overall a great experience. Ordered the loaded baked potato soup, and a turkey bacon club sandwich combo with jalapeno chips and a sugar cookie. The soup was some of the best potato soup I have ever had. The sandwich was terrific, although the bread was a tad too crisp. The jalapeno chips were out of this world, and probably some of the best chips I have ever had and so was the cookie. The only negative thing, outside from the crisp bread, was the cherry coke tasted like straight carbonation. Great restaurant and cheap as well
Schlotzsky’s makes some pretty good food, from their sandwiches to their calzones. The drive thru at this location isn’t the fastest and their prices are a little high for what you get but it still a decent place to eat so I come here occasionally.
The sandwiches are not as good as they used to be. I ordered three Originals and they had to pieces of meat folded over, was like eating mostly bread. Unfortunately they're cutbacks will cutback on my visiting again ? It used to be one of my favorite places to eat...
