We celebrated our 15th anniversary at Nick's last night and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Honestly I cannot believe we have never been here. The building is unassuming but that stops at the door. From the moment we walked inside you could tell that this restaurant was unlike others. It was dimly lit, dark, rich wood decor that gave us the feeling of being in a old Chicago steak restaurant. Our server, Keith was top notch and gave us glorious recommendations and every one was spot on. My steak (filet mignon) was cooked perfectly as well as the scallops. My husband had the bone-in ribeye and it was perfect and flavorful. We also saved room for dessert and had the chocolate creme brulee and tiramisu. Again, it was like heaven. At no time did we feel rushed and we had adequate time between all of our courses to enjoy conversation. My only somewhat complaint would be that if you are sensitive to smoke, please request to be seated as far away from the cigar room door as possible. We did not know this and were right beside it and there is a strong smoke smell in that area. I am super sensitive but we didn't say anything about moving. I just noted it for next time.Other than that minor thing, I cannot say enough good things about the food, service and our experience. It was fantastic.
The food is fantastic, the service attentive and friendly, and the desserts are divine. As an added bonus, live music performances. My first visit happened to be the night Dave McConnell performed Sinatra. If I could give this experience more than 5 stars I would.
The staff were all very kind, personable, and attentive. The menu had lots of unique menu options that you don’t see very often at other restaurants. Many of the entrees come with a salad. Most restaurants will just give you a choice between a Caesar salad or a garden salad but at Nick’s you can choose any of their menu salad options to accompany your entree without an additional charge. The reason why I can’t give it an five star review is that the dining room did have a smokiness coming in from the cigar bar. You also have to walk through the cigar bar to use the restroom. This may be a problem for those with asthma. I would like to end this review on a positive note because this was truly the best steak I have ever had. At also want to add how fabulous our waiter, Joey, was. He was the only waiter and he attended each table with such grace and skill.
Couldn't have asked for a better 1st anniversary dinner. Joey was our waiter and was great. You definitely get your money's worth here. For a very special occasion, go see Nick. He will NOT disappoint. Can't wait to go back!
We also made reservations but if smoking ? is something that will ruin your experience like it does ours then stay away. We personally were very excited to try it but we’re taking back by the overwhelming smoke smell which caused us to cancel our reservations. So as I would of liked to reviewed the food we never made past 5 mins at our table
The food is amazing, and desserts! The gelato was the table favorite! Roger was the best server. Only wish they didn’t have smoking in the bar side, it comes through to the dining room some. Would still recommend this place to everyone!
The few times we've been there the food was either outstanding or just fair. Atmosphere is great and people dress up, but it seems improvements could be made in service and reservations. Overall pleased, but high end places need to be just that.
It was our first visit to Nick's, only regret is not going to this restaurant sooner! Absolutely amazing! Wife and I both had steak - Filet and Ribeye. These were no small steaks either. Keith provided excellent service throughout the dinner. The tiramisu was outstanding. We will definitely put this place on our frequent dining list!
It’s our favorite go to for a nice dinner for an anniversary or other various celebrations. Steaks are perfect. Really everything is perfect. Service is wonderful!
Wonderful meal, amazing atmosphere, great service. A Top 5 dining experience in my lifetime......well done. Nick's. Joey, phenomenal job !
