I was surprised it is a chain. The food I'd good but not very authentic.

I have celiac disease and they were very accommodating. They have a gluten free menu (as well as other menus, but you have to ask) and will help you pick what's safe. They don't use soy sauce when it's gluten free, so I was expecting some blandness, esp because this place looks like a mall food court place, but I was very surprised. I spent over a decade in Asia, it's my favourite cuisine (specifically Thai and Korean), and I felt this place did it justice, considering the kind of food it is. Big portions too.Thai fried rice was spicy and really had a Thai taste. I tried the lemon pepper shrimp, not battered, and it was a real lemon pepper taste, not those gluggy corn syrup based sauces. Tried the chicken fried rice made with brown rice, gluten free, it was also good.Even when one rice was made with white instead of brown rice, when they corrected it they made sure to remember it was gluten free. Many mid range and higher places have made me sick with gluten, these guys were great!Heading back to try the sesame!
I use to love this place but something has happened to the quality of the food in the last few months. Last two times I have ordered here the food has just tasted off, maybe stale. the individual working the register that seemed to be upset that I bothered him and was not in the mood to take an order. I won’t be going back
Very Poor Customer Service. I love their food but the service is very hit or miss. I asked for chili paste and soy sauce and didn’t receive neither, now i’m forced to eat dry fried rice or through away food. The delivery driver handed my food off and ran off no time to pull my tip out my pocket. Barely had time to tell the man thank you. I called to resolve the issue and the associate brushed it off. Very disappointed.
It's too good to have less than 4 stars. It's clean and set up like a newish, counter restaurant. The prices are very reasonable and the food is at least 4 stars with my General Tso's being above average. I had great service and will be back.
This is the second time I have eaten at Mei Wei on university drive in Huntsville AL. The first time I was not impressed but I thought it was because everywhere I go, general tso's chicken is made different. A few weeks ago I ate at the Mei Wei on Twickenham and it was soooo AMAZING and I actually went back like a week or so later!! My husband and I was so satisfied with our food!! But today, we happened to go back to the one on university drive. Truly a big mistake. I should of trusted my conscience. I was again disappointed. Looks like I won't be going back to that one on university drive. The food was not the same as I received at the other location.
Fast, tasty, and reasonably priced. Good portion sizing too. This is one of our family favorites. The deserts are really good, too.
I've had many years of excellent meals from Mei Wei, but the food quality has decreased sharply in recent months. Most recently, my order of edamame was cooked with practically rotten soybeans, which were entirely yellow and smelled awful. The meal also included Mei Wei Fried Rice with Beef, which was mushy and smelled off. It's going to be quite a while before I give Mei Wei another try.
I eat there all the time. But tonight I called for pick up 30 minutes before closing. I was put on hold for 5 minutes and I called back he told me the kitchen was closed. That was horrible customer service
