Gluten free options. Severely overpriced. $100+ for 2 people.Miso soup $11.00!? Avg Sushi price $13I am severely disappointed in this Kona Grill. I used to love this restaurant so much that I bought tons of shares in it hoping it would improve. They have Gluten Free options which is one of the only good things. I like the ambiance but there are not enough servers for you to even enjoy this place. The avocado egg rolls were pretty good compared to similar options like at Cheese Cake factory. The food today overall was not quality.I visited here with a friend. We have been checking out all the restaurants in N Alabama that have sushi on the menu.Kona used to be one of the best. I am not sure what happened!? The fish tasted old. The presentation was cool but that did not compensate for the price.Go here if you don't care about cost and don't mind waiting and risking the chance of poor quality food.
Excellent date night! The Big Island Ribeye was cooked to perfection and the island butter is so good! Rhi took excellent care of us. This was our first visit to Kona and she went above & beyond to explain the dishes and answer all our questions.Great, family atmosphere. Loved it & will definitely return!!!
This was amazing!!! Loved every bite!!!
We were seated quickly for our reservation at 5:45. Our waiter was pretty attentive but the food was slow to come out. It took almost 30 minutes to get an appetizer of eddemme which was under cooked and hardly salted. The sushi rolls were edible but not good. The Lemon Chicken entre was the same, edible. I was so disappointed. The last time we ate at Kona Grill the food was fantastic. For $125 (family of 4) I expected good food.
The food was either poorly seasoned, over seasoned and made salty, or inconsistently seasoned in which all the spices clashed against each other and made the food poor. For such an expensive restaurant, I should not be fighting flies and other mosquitoes from my food. I'll never go back.
This place was a huge disappointment. I will not go back
The atmosphere, service, and the food were all top notch. We will definitely be coming back soon, as we can't wait to try more of the amazing looking dishes from the menu. The food was bright, fresh, and delicious.
I had the filet with a shrimp tempura roll. My husband had the ribeye with a Yamada roll. We also had the cake that comes with raspberry and ice cream, I canât remember the name, and it was delicious.
There was confusion about who was serving our table, so we had to find someone to help after waiting almost 10 minutes.
Our first time to Kona and it was great all around. I had filet with a shrimp tempura roll. My steak was excellent! Roll was fresh. My husband had a sushi roll with sea bass in it (Yamada roll) with a ribeye and he said they both were delicious. We ordered the original butter cake for dessert and it was great!! Also the service was great. We will definitely go back to Kona!!
