This place never disappoints. Whether you are at the Providence or Airport Road location, consistency and amazing quality is held captive here. I visited the Airport Road location for birthday cupcakes for my oldest son. We purchased a four pack of Oreo topped. One word: extremely decadent!
This is such a cute bakery! My friend and I went for an early lunch and I loved seeing all of the baked goods & take-away options (chicken salad, wraps, etc).I have heard great things about it before coming, and definitely will return!I had some of the lunch items and my friend had a pastry. All of it was delicious!
Great strawberry cake, staff and atmosphere, but the $10 cheese straws are a huge disappointment unless you like your cheese straws moist, spongy and cake-like. I thought cheese straws are supposed to be crispy and cookie-like. I bought them a second time a few months later thinking the first batch I bought must be a fluke, but nope. Moist and spongy again. No thanks. (Huntsville location).
We had a sweet tooth and Edgars did not disappoint. The only reason I'm rating my experience as a four star is due to the confusion when standing in line and ordering. I'd like to have browsed the entire pastry display before ordering but if you do that, customers think you are cutting in line. Then, once you're waited on, it's hard to browse the line due to the sheer number of people trying to check out. I'm wondering if the owner and staff have considered implementing a numbering system so that people can browse and check out when their number is called. It seems that would reduce the amount of confusion when ordering and paying.
The food here is always amazing. We've ordered the cinnamon rolls, orange rolls, and pecan rolls and they're all delicious and moist with plenty of icing. We also enjoyed the chicken salad sandwiches with fruit on a lunch outing. We've never had to wait very long for food to be served. The whole interior and exterior of the restaurant is clean, organized, and easy to maneuver. On a couple of occasions, we had to go ask them for extras like silverware and straws and it can be hard to get their attention on a busy day due to being short-staffed. However, I understand this. Most restaurants are short-staffed right now. They should consider putting silverware and straws out on a table over by the drinks so that customers don't have to ask for this.
Nice big bakery with a wide variety of cakes, breads, cookies. Also a cafe with sandwiches, wraps, chips, fruit, fountain drinks. I had the Avacado chicken grilled wrap. Very delicious, all ingredients were very fresh. The sandwich came with kettle chips, and you can choose 1 more side. I chose the fresh fruit. Nice portion sizes. Employees were all very nice, helpful, and working hard. I also bought a slice of German chocolate cake to go! The next birthday cake will be definitely ordered from Edgar's. The full cakes were beautiful, and it looks like they do wedding cakes also.
Do you need to satisfy that sweet tooth craving? Perhaps your looking for the best King cake in the Deep South? Then make sure you stop by the number one bakery in the area! You will not be disappointed!
Overall: Good food, great pastries, good coffee. Atmosphere is casual with lots of seating both in and out.Pros:- Food is delicious with lots of healthy and unhealthy choices.- Desserts are delicious!- Service is friendly- Restrooms are nice- Outside area is nice during nice weatherCon:- Also the service, it seems that it was always hard to get some ones attention.- Did not pay a lot of attention to dining room when I was there. Lots of unbussed tables and napkin/straw/everything location for what you need was lacking and missing. Had to ask for a lot (which leads back to bullet one)What did I get: We got the chicken Salad sandwich with chips and fruit (two different types). Was delicious but croissant was on the cusp on not being fresh anymore.Would I go back: Yes I would go back, especially for the desserts. They have a lot of great desserts and a great to-go market!
Cupcakes are good and the girl preparing my order was really nice. I have 4 stars tho because the girl ringing up my order did not seem like she wanted to be at work. Her service was very dry. Not sure what her name is tho.
We love going to Edgar's for breakfast on Saturdays because they serve until 2pm, and have the best French Toast! If you've never been it is a must visit any day/ time.
