I sat at the bar. Very good food (chicken fried chicken w/ mash taters/gravy & corn). The hot fudge chocolate cake sundae was amazing!
They have the best side salads but I always find mystery items in my pasta. The first time it was a hard French fry cooked in. This time I found chips. It’s ridiculous.
We thought we would have a wait because the parking lot was full and it was Friday night, but surprisingly we were seated immediately. We had a great server, very nice and fast.They no longer have their onion rings but the cheese fries are dangerously good. Unfortunately, like everyone else, they have had to increase their prices, but the quality of the food and the amount you get, is still very much worth it. The honey butter croissants are like a little fluffy cloud straight from heaven! The ABSOLUTE ONLY complaint any of us had is that the green beans and rice were sweet. I think they use the honey butter to season everything. The corn off the cob is very good, also.
Well I loved Cheddars up in Rockford IL and cried when they closed. Saw that there was one here and I got so excited!!! Much to my surprise service and food were slow and our order was wrong. We ordered the steak medium rare and mine was a little burned (not charred) on one side and hardly flame kissed on the other. It was chewy and dry too. My mothers was still blue on the inside. They do not have the twice baked potato on the menu. The broccoli and cheese casserole was just cheese rice and broccoli. It really needed to cook a bit longer to develop flavor. Also my Mother ordered her steak with coconut shrimp and they brought out spicy grilled shrimp. The ribs I ordered with my steak were yummy so I do recommend those. We ordered the strawberry sweet tart drink to take the glass home and no mention of rinsing them out or even giving us a bag for all the take home. I also didn't get my salad. It was a big let down for me. We will not go back. Comparing the price of food and the service (sat for 15min before waiter came to tale our drink orders and say Hi) we received it just cost too much for the 1.5hr drive to get there.
Where do I begin… from the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with negative service. In the spirit of second chances, we decided to order food… that was a mistake. Ordered a steak “medium” and came out very rare and cold. I tried a side of broccoli casserole and immediately felt sick. The food was rotten, expired, and disgusting! Our server was untrained and rude. He served our salads with his thumb in the dressing, and he used his hands to squeeze the lemon in my water. Who does this? A health inspector needs to visit here and escalate this situation.
The experience here is lacking. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with terrible customer service. We have a non attentive server who had let plates pile up and hasn’t been to serve us in 30 minutes. On top of that I’m pretty sure my steak is still mooing.
My dinner was great, but not the dessert. The cake wasn't fresh, there was too much whip cream and nuts.
The Service was very Good as well as the Food. My beverage was Amazing. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised because I have not been here in a few months.
One of the things that i check out first in a restaurant is the Health Score. That is important that lets you know how Clean they are.... We went into Cheddar's, on University Drive, and they have an 86 Health Score. . This is nasty. A health score needs to be at least a 90. Bad health scores reflect on the Management. Lazy managers, dirty restaurant. We walked out. Dirty restaurant not going to get my clean money,
The croissants were fabulous as were the salads. When the waitress handed my wife the cheese fries, the plate must have come from the oven because my wife shrieked in pain. The waitress was holding the double plate with both hands underneath as she handed it to my wife. Our drink glasses were never refilled. I had to go to the bar to ask for boxes as it was clear our waitress was done. This was very unusual service at this restaurant.
