First it has a nice downtown location. Easy parking. The menu has lots of fried food to choose and offers broiled. Fresh, perfect size servings good. We had grouper tacos, topped with a hood pickled slaw. Their sauce a thin white sauce and was ok, but when asked they will bring remoulade sauce which is delicious . Others had the regular salad with chicken fingers and a steak which was surprisingly good and erfectly grilled. One small disappointment was the fish. It was breaded in small pieces called grouper bites which was also an appetizer. I assumed differently reading the menu. Still good! I would not order again because I love grouper unless it was a piece of fish. It was too much breading. Never assume. Maybe they were out still I definitely return as their shrimp were beautifully steamed, hush puppies very hood. Good service and prompt. Not upscale at all. Very loud music, just a hint for your reading reviews.
It was better than I thought it would be. Was it the best no, but it was good for a chain restaurant. Big plates/ lots of food. Fish was nice and flaky not rubbery like most places.
Horribly over cooked crawfish, shrimp and grits floating in oil, Luke warm food and only decent part was the hurricane.
I love me some NOLA! This place had a chain vibe but the food was excellent. The service was on point. I ordered one their featured dishes chicken with balsamic. I highly recommend it! Also if you he a cat 5 hurricane don’t plan on driving. Will be going again.
The Cajun Steamer is a great place for good Cajun food. The menu had a good variety of dishes that made it hard for me to choose. I ended up getting the Cajun Pastalaya and "Babay" when I tell you it was amazing! It had just the right amount of kick to let me know I was down south. Our service was great also. We sat at the bar but I observed how the staff interacted with other patrons and I would recommend the Cajun Steamer if you are ever in Huntsville.
5 star ! My wife and went here and ordered the big platter . Was plenty enough to feed us both . Price was good and the gator bites omg ! Excellent
Visited today, 4/23/2022, at around 230pm. We waited at the host stand for quite a while before I ended going to the bar to ask if we needed to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. A couple minutes later, a gentleman finally comes up, barely speaks to us, and seats us. We sat down and noticed that our table was very dirty. Not only was our table dirty, but all surrounding tables were dirty. We ended up walking out before being offered drinks. I was very disappointed in this experience. It’s my family’s first time in Huntsville and this restaurant came highly recommended by a friend.
The service is excellent and the food is even better!! I’m from Louisiana and this is down home New Orleans level!! If your looking for good food or a bar to hang out! Make it here! Also has a extensive Happy Hour drink menu!! Felt like I was walking into a New Orleans restaurant!! I’d come back!
My husband and I decided to try this place and it was delicious. I had to the bourbon fettuccine and he had the Melvin chicken. Both were excellent but honestly his was better. All of the flavors combine: the potatoes with the perfectly seasoned chicken and sautéed onions with hint of hickey bacon and THAT SAUCE!!!LAWD! Definitely coming back to try other items on menu.
My meal was amazing. Blackened shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. Definitely had a kick to it, but was perfectly seasoned!
