Wednesday evening, stovehouse area very busy, so expect fresh food from this restaurant. First time here, very dissappointed with meal. Bar B Que served to us was cold and it was tuff,tasted so dry that the sauce did not help. . Bread was not fresh. mac and cheese was bland, not much of a cheese flavor. Meal cost 26 for two of us, we ate right outside the restaurant but won't eat here again. Stovehouse is a great place with several take out restaurants, so no refelection on the stovehouse campus.
I'll admit that I'm picky about my BBQ, especially brisket. And for most people, this would be a place for a 5 star review. Pros - atmosphere is great. You don't eat in the restaurant but the conglomerate of restaurants and breweries was a smart move. The meat was tender, had a decent amount of bark,and wasn't full of gristle and sinew. The potato salad wasn't my granny's but was pretty good. The cons - the meat was too tender. Brisket shouldn't completely fall apart when you pick it up, it's not pulled pork. It also had a boiled texture to it instead of smoked, kind of like corned beef. The BBQ sauce was heavy on the vinegar which is ok, but for a "smoked" sauce it needs less vinegar and more brown sugar. For the spicy version, eh. As for the collards, the stems were tender, but way too many. Collards are supposed to be all greens, it is in the name. Whoever chose the bread shouldn't be in that department anymore. Switch to a true southern sourdough and you'll have to prop the door open when the line is so long.
Really enjoyed the brisket sandwich with spicy bbq sauce! Chips were a little chewy, but we will definitely be back. Service was quick and friendly.
From start to finish it was disappointing. The two girls working there did not make us feel welcome, they didn't let us know they would be right with us just walked away from the register to handle things without saying a word. The food was not terrible. The pulled pork sandwich was okay but was not shredded at all (think hunk of meat on a bun.) The brisket was cold and mostly fat. Everything was bland and the bbq sauce barely helped. The only thing that was not bland were the chips. But they were oversalted to the point they were hard to eat. They could be great with some work and employees willing to put forth a half ounce of effort.
The food is delicious and the workers are so friendly! I hoghly recommend the brisket! Yum!
So, I was looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately, I walked in behind a couple only to hear one of the workers tell them that they were out of brisket and only had enough pork for sandwiches and nachos. How can you not plan properly for a weekend? It was Saturday at 6:45. Maybe I can try again later and raise the rating.
Terrible place Cajun plate not worth 13$ servings is small and taste like something I could buy for cheaper at Publix
Closed. This location was better than the Stovehouse location. This location had air-conditioned seating, desserts, refills, and an attentive staff, all of which the Stovehouse location lacks. It was great. It's a shame they closed it down to dine-in.
I have eaten here twice and the brisket as well as the pork was delicious. The meat had really good flavor and was very tender. Tried the chicken salad and it was just ok for me. Some of the counter employees could use some better customer service skills though. I worked in the food industry for over thirty years I know the public can be...trying...but at the same time there are too many choices of places to go to have employees that don't smile, don't speak to you, and look bored to be there.But the location is great, the brisket is super good so I'll be back.
The food was amazing. The food did take a while to make and we were asked to wait outside. Had to walk back and forth numerous times to check on order status. And we were given the wrong food. Once that was corrected we enjoyed our meal greatly though. Even went back in to order some of their white sauce and queso to take home.
