Good beer selection, trivia was fun and seemed well run (third party) and they have a speaker for outside trivia players which is essential. The food was not good, the wings were really gummy and I got the wrong order (bone in instead of boneless) but they were slammed for trivia so I get it. The dip trio was fine but the chips tasted like they were bought at the dollar store. Idk other than the beer selection, very very average. Staff was nice though!
Visited for Sunday brunch and the food was terrible. I had the chicken and biscuits which was two chicken nuggets inside a biscuit all of which were at room temperature. My side was hash brown casserole also at room temp. My wife and daughter both had chicken and waffles which were dusted with a seasoning so spicy they couldn’t eat it. Once we received our food we never had anyone come to the table to refill our drinks or check on us or anything. I’m not the type to send food back, but had anyone bothered to check on us I would’ve this time. The price we paid was not reflected in the quality of the food. Awful.
I cannot stop raving about just how great a time we had here last night! I didn't get all the names of the crew working but Jeremy, the kitchen staff, the spunky ladies behind the bar - all top notch people! We got there around 10pm-ish and though the kitchen was soon closing they rushed our orders out hot, fresh, and tasty! They just truly seemed happy to be there and also welcome us in, which meant so much as we'd just left a place that was...lukewarm, at best.We will definitely be back to try more beers and just hang out for trivia and everything else they want to put on!Edit: came back today (6/17) and found their bbq pork sandwich. Most divine bbq in Bham - true hidden gem!
I don't drink much, so I typically feel out of place at most bars. I felt right at home here. It has a coffee shop feel to it with comfortable seating and an outdoor patio. If you drink they have a huge selection to choose from. If you don't drink, they do have some soda to choose from, but diet options are a bit lacking with only three diet sodas to choose from (my only negative really). The owner is very nice as well as the staff. Love the Tuesday board game nights! I never thought I'd find a bar that I felt comfortable in, but I found it right here at the Casual Pint!
All around great. The most awesome selection of beer on tap, so many different brews available! ♥️ I was expecting this place to be sub-par being in Hoover, but I was pleasantly surprised! The staff was great, and the food is always great.
The beer selection is excellent. I had the parmesan chicken sandwich which was much better than I expected. My wife has the burger and the bite I had of that was excellent. Also, their take on fries was very good. We'll be coming back.
This is my review of their brunch. Very nice atmosphere. Excellent beer selection. However, the food needs work. We had the chicken and waffles, hashbrown casserole, bacon, and Sriracha Bourbon wings. Unfortunately you can tell that everything is probably cooked in a toaster oven or something. The waffle had a good flavor but was a little on the hard side. The syrup is served room temp or colder. The chicken was little nugetllgwt style. We received about 4 or 5 pieces. These tasted like the breaded Tyson chicken nuggets found in the frozen section. The wing sauce was good. The wings were fatty.Also, the food took a while to come out. Overall, I probably won't visit here again unless I want to try their beers.
I love The Casual Pint at The Grove! I’ve been working here for 2 years doing various different positions. I run all of the social media as of now and we have some really cool events! This is an up-and-coming ‘hipster’ bar! Come try us out if you haven’t! I hope I see y’all soon!
Food here is surprisingly really good. There are different beers is always rotating in and out. The beer options always seem light on stouts and lagers but a healthy variety of sours and IPAs
Scott, the owner is AWESOME! We had a party of 30 today, service was great & the staff was wonderful. I can't wait to visit again.?
