This is good bbq, period. Having lived for many years in Texas, the Kansas City area, and the Memphis area I know good bbq when I see it, smell it, and taste it. I ordered the brisket plate and the slices were thick. The smoke ring was readily apparent and the brisket was hot, tender, and juicy, and had a great smokey flavor. The mac n cheese was good, and the beans were excellent! They tasted like they had drippings in them. My wife had ribs and brisket and thoroughly enjoyed both. I highly recommend this establishment.
Service was absolutely fantastic. We did have about a 15 minute wait because they were busy. I had a low sugar episode while waiting and a server saw me and brought me a muffin and water. Loaded baked potato was good, but not great, salad was super. Our server was fantastic. Overall nice visit. Clean restaurant.

The restaurant style, decor and quality lay out make it ideal for a nice meal. Staffing shortage but waitress Sunny worked hard to take care of us. The food was not special as we’ve experienced in the past. The fries seemed to have been slowly soaked in the oil/grease not crispy and light. The pulled pork was cooked with sauce and seemed mushy. The BBQ beans were good. They need to step up a bit if they intend to maintain their “best BBQ” status.

I realize weekends are busy, but that doesn't mean one table should be ignored while the servers greet and serve other patrons who were seated later. After being seated, we sat for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come to our table while watching server's walk all around us taking care if other patrons. We finally had to ask if anyone would be taking our order. The server we asked said she would find out who had our table, and then she herself ended up taking our order. The wait for our food was extra long too, and they forgot to tell me they were out of brisket and just brought my 2-meat plate with one meat on it. I really felt like we were an afterthought and that nobody wanted to own our table. The manager did discount our meal and give us a free dessert, but the whole experience was less than stellar.
We have walked past the JNN tent at the Bama games in Tuscaloosa but never stopped to try it. We were in town looking for a place to eat so we decided on JNN’s and glad we did! There was no waiting, host took us directly to our booth and server was prompt. I ordered the pulled pork loaded baked potato and it was enormous! My husband had the rib plate, he enjoyed that as well! From now on we will be stopping at the tent for a JNN lunch BEFORE the game!
Food was fabulous. It was a relaxed atmosphere and the staff was very helpful the entire experience. Jacki, one of the managers at this location, is an asset any other restaurant should be jealous they don't have. She has me convinced this is the best Jim n Nick's location period. Definitely coming back when I visit home again to see Jacki and the amazing crew there.
