My food was absolutely delicious. My chicken and Rice Green beans and Turnip greens was good to the last bite. Probably going back tomorrow.
Everything sounded good but it’s not your mothers cooking. I wished I had not spent that much money. I have had better at gas stations that cook meat and 3. They need to rethink the fried green tomatoes, that batter is not it. The staff was nice.
Good as always fresh, fast & Tasty. We both had the Catfish perfect sized filets & veggies never disappoint. Wish it was closer to our side of town.
Good food but not the greatest. I had the country fried steak and it was swimming in brown gravy before being served. Fried green tomatoes were good with a flour crust as well as the okra. Wife had the chicken pot pie and said it was tasty.
I eat here regularly. I like it better than Irondale Cafe. Lines shorter and staff so friendly and inviting.Food as close to Niki’s West in taste but with less choice. I do not think any restaurant will compare to the cafeteria line experience of Niki’s West.This is my staple meal(carrot raisin salad!).
As a huge fan of the Irondale Cafe, I was not surprised to find the same quality food and service at Fried Green Tomato. I was disappointed that they do not offer the same cafeteria style setup and the seating area is much smaller. If you’re looking for a great home cooked meal, this is the place!
Was very good. I really needed a good meal. I had country fried steak, fried green tomatoes, turnip greens, an macaroni and cheese. Was outstanding. Buttermilk pie for dessert. It didn't disappoint like so many of these places do. Try it. I'm sure you will love it too.

The food was very good and locally sourced, which I was happy to see. My son had the meatloaf, I had the country fried steak and we both had the fried green tomatoes. I prefer fried green tomatoes with a corn meal crust, theirs is a flour based batter, so they were just ok to me. I will definitely eat there again.
I ate at FGT for the first time today. I highly recommend it. The fried chicken breast had the perfect crunch and juicy. The collards were amazing. I will be back.
