We ordered calamari and literally got a chunk of hair in the batter after taking few bites and didn't eat the rest of the food. Manager said he will take it out from the bill which we didn't eat. It was really a bad experience and I will never go back to this place.
Great first time experience! Excellent service, nice atmosphere,and yummy food.i had the Mardi Gras pasta and seafood dip. can't wait to return to try something else

It was great until the owner followed my party out to tell us he’s only paying his servers $2.13. He didn’t see a tip on the receipt because we left a cash tip. I was really offended because I thought he was following us to ask about service, but he was following because he was concerned about what the receipt said but not checking the table for a cash tip. Sounds like the owner is the actual issue since the reviews are all concerning him.How many of his customers does he actually follow out of his restaurant. Maybe some racial sensitivity courses, for him… everything went well until the owner decided to follow me and my party out!Sounds like he’s not able to pay his workers since there are signs displayed as soon as you enter, he also has a note on the menu for the mandatory 20%gratuity for party of 5 and over.Maybe some people skills, cause following two women with children out of a restaurant is sketch to begin with, maybe asking questions while in the restaurant, as he was sitting at a few booths away from us, so there was plenty of time to ask about the experience, so I do know it was charged by more than that.Food was good, drink was sub par, enjoying my ppl was great, but being followed to my vehicle was not okay. Calm down sir, move around, I’m actually in awe that you had the audacity to follow me to my car.My rating is negative 8… sounds like you running girls, can’t afford to pay them, racially biased, but the food was good..but I won’t be back!

A Louisiana style sausage with rice, vegetables, and seasoned pork.Husband ordered the bowl of Red Beans & Rice ($12). A perfectly seasoned tender bowl of red beans. Looking forward to this again.I ordered the Crawfish Étouffée ($12). A Cajun flavored roux with lots of crawfish, vegetables and a generous scoop of rice. I highly recommend this dish.We also ordered a side of sweet corn hush puppies ($4). Ohmygoodness perfect.Food arrived hot & delicious.Drinks kept filled.Can’t wait to go back and try their other selections.
The food was great and perfectly cooked. The crab claws are better than those in Orange Beach! 5 folks with 5 different orders and everyone loved the food Service: excellent
This place was delicious! Met some other Hoover realtors here to learn from south oak title company and; the food wonderful, Loved the Bloody Mary, the staff was great!
This is our absolute favorite restaurant to visit! You get the whole package! From friendly service, to great atmosphere, to amazing food! You can never go wrong with Cajun Roux!
Highly Disappointed! Specifically asked for old bay cream sauce on the side once I picked my order up the sauce on top of the fish, requested if I could get it how I ordered it they took the fish back to the kitchen wiped all the sauce off and poured more seasoning over the top of the fish. Brought it back out to me checked my order which was unacceptable. Manager stated that the kitchen was closed so they used the same piece of fish and recooked it twice. Extremely salty and overall very bad service for the price of the food! Very odd how the policy is tip 20% and also can not remove anything off for disliking. Bad business! Will not be returning.
Traveling through the Birmingham area and decided to stop for the night. Asked some locals for a recommendation for seafood. We were directed here.It was incredible! A lively place yet not overwhelming. Fantastic food, great service.My wife enjoyed the seafood risotto. I had the pan seared red snapper with white wine and butter sauce. Both were fantastic. I also enjoyed the brussel sprouts with bacon!Allison, our server, was exceptional. She went out of her way to make our dining experience even better.When we are traveling through Hoover again we will stop in again.
