Food is largely great. Sauces great, sides (check out the hushpuppies!) also consistently good. But, the 'brisket' I was served last Friday, mid-afternoon, was inexcusable. It was maybe 25% meat and at least 75% fat. Playing at this level, and with food costing this much, you have to deliver the goods. Someone should have stopped this from even being served.I would have recommended your restaurant highly (I've been a couple times) but frankly I'm wondering if I even want to return much less invite/recommend friends.
BBQ is on point, but honestly, their crinkle cut fries are absolutely delicious and stole the show.
I call myself a Pitmaster I am a sauce King but after going here I learned that I can not Cook ribs. I had the best Dern ribs, pulled pork i ever have had in my life without any sauce did not need any sauce the service was remarkable very very nice establishment PS the collard greens are a must try my wife love them she said it tastes like her grandma was in the back of the kitchen cooking those greens she had to give two orders of them chest to take home after we had already ate
The Chopped Salad with Smoked Chicken was fantastic! Definitely one of my new favorite places to eat in Homewood! The servers are attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is great!
We ordered online prior to since it was Memorial Day weekend and we were glad we did. The ribs and and sides were delicious! I HIGHLY recommend this black owned business!
My Wife and I and another couple ate at the new Rodney Scott Homewood Alabama location. The location is beautiful inside and out!I ordered a Half Rack for me and my wife with extra beans and potato saladsides, We also ordered two fountain drinks and two Banana Pudding’s.Amber assisted us and answered questions about the menu. She was very nice but did not know a lot about the food,First Question- How many ribs are in a half rack and are they smoked Answer Six! And they are smoked!Second Question- Does the Banana Pudding have Bananas in it?Answer- I don’t know but it is made in a big long pan!Third Question- Are the ribs smoked! Answer yes a second time!We ordered our food and the results where terrible! We were served Four Ribs total ($28.99)We did not ask for our other two ribs because they were burned, dried outand had no taste! When our banana pudding came it had very few wafers and No BananasThe beans were also not seasoned and were very dry!The potato salad was not tasty and the potatoes were hard! With our tip we paid $71.46 for a terrible meal for two people! We sat at table 15 on June 11, 2022 @ 4:37PMOur friends had the same results! We will not be eating at Your Restaurant again!
First time trying R/S BBQ at this location. Great layout; inside & outside plus a inside bar area. The menu w/a wide selection of various Smoked Meats & fresh sides has something for everyone. Smoked Wings are a favorite to please.
Great experience. Of the 3 pictured dishes, the Brisket was the best. Not pictured, Banana pudding, which was great as well, better than Dreamlands! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rodney Scott was even there and stopped by our table, which inspired me to watch the Netflix Chef's Table BBQ episode that featured him. Great story and glad Bhm can experience what he has to offer.
My husband and I loved our lunch visit to Rodney Scott’s. The turkey sandwich and mac n cheese were delicious, but I was most impressed by the fast and kind service, plus the atmosphere was so cool! I’m glad they’re in Homewood!
Good barbeque, good service, good prices. Was familiar with Rodney Scott's in Charleston, SC and learned there are two locations in Birmingham. Homewood seemed to have better reviews so we dined here. Looks brand new. We would consider coming back here on future visits to Birmingham.
