Delicious and courteous. I came in for a quick bite as I was craving Chinese. I didn't know exactly what I wanted so I asked about the Chop Suey Special and the owner explained to me what was in it and took time with me. It made a world of difference. My food was delicious and I truly appreciated the time she took with me. I'll def be back!!
This place has THE BEST EGG ROLLS IN ALABAMA! Hands down!! Real shredded cabbage is the key. They are super sized, flavorful and flaky. Not like any other. I did a tasting around the Bham area and these are the best!!
While waiting, I spoke with a customer who ordered “Compost Chicken” saying that she really likes it a lot and that it has red and green peppers in the rice. I decided to try it but unfortunately, I was disappointed in what I got. Mine had lots of boiled chicken skin but no chicken. One small piece of Bell Pepper. I could not eat it. Nine dollars for this!
Great as usual. I flew into Birmingham and picked up my rental car and headed straight for Chop Suey Inn. It was like 7:55 when I got there, and they took my order and it was so good. It's been since I was here in August when I had it last. But when I lives here this was my go to for great Chinese! Always fresh, always good! Vegetable lo Mein and chicken Broccoli! Sure to please. I live in Ohio now so it's always a pleasure to get to come back to my old eating places.
We've gone there for years to pick up for a loved one. Each visit seemed to be met with the guy at the counter having a bad day and no patience or customer appreciation. Still we returned because our loved one won't eat anyone else's Shrimp Egg Foo Yung or Shrimp fried rice. This visit was pleasantly different. Saw new faces and experienced better service. Looking forward to our next visit.
It WAS the absolute best. Its still good. Now the egg rolls barely have any shrimp if any. The sweet and sour was great but it’s very different. The color is red now. It’s runny and doesn’t taste terrible but nothing close to before.
The folks who work here are always friendly! The menu is very clearly laid out which makes it easy for me to find my order. Plus there's lots of space inside to spread out while you wait for your food to be ready. The food, prices, and portions are good, but the ease and simplicity of ordering are what make this a great experience for me.
Very slow getting your food. . Food was good. Need a better way to assist their customers. There is no need calling in if you have to stand in line to get your food.
I was visiting Alabama for work and I needed a pick me up so I decided on soup… The line wasn’t too long when I first got there but it was certainly moving slow. I noticed the lady at the counter taking walk in orders and phone orders. The only issue was she’ll just walk away from the counter while the in person walk in was ordering. No excuse me or anything. It rubbed me the wrong way because she wasn’t answering a call she just walked away during mid sentence to the lady who was ordering in front. So I was thinking, “please don’t let this lady do the same thing to me.” Well guess what, she did! She saw my irritation with her and she quickly fixed it with “I’m sorry, what’s your order”? Long story short, I ordered a small Chicken Noodle Soup and Small Hot and Sour Soup. The Chicken noodle soup was made with regular sized Spaghetti pasta and EXTREMELY BLAND!! The Hot and Sour Soup was just okay… I was hungry, spent money so I ate it. Obviously I won’t revisit this restaurant if I had to come back to the area to work.
Do yourself a favor and get the egg rolls, they're amazing. The rest of their food stands up well to other mom n pop Chinese food as well. Dem egg rolls though!!
