Cannot sit more than 6 per table but they won’t tell you this until you arrive. We got sat at 3 different tables for our party with 3 different waiters. Water and drink refills take over 10 mins AFTER requesting more water. Adult beverages take 15 minutes after you order, so order your 2nd drink when the first one arrives. They rush you to order your food so they can push you out of the door. They’re doing maintenance on the building around the dinner tables. The wait staff does not write anything down. Be prepared to order multiple times… Recommendation: choose a different restaurant.
The restaurant was packed and we still got in in 10 minutes. The service was excellent. We brought our own fish that we caught and they cooked it perfectly!! We were in and out in about an hour!! Fantastic experience!!
We had a great experience, 5 of us. We enjoyed the scenery while we waited . Brittany was a very great server. Fish tacos and shrimp were great and hot. Garbage nachos were so good, husband loved his burgers. These people were working their butts off. Had a great first visit here
We usually go to the Gulf Shores location, and honestly, will probably go back to that one, as I feel it is a bit bigger so the wait moves a bit faster. But this location is ok. It wasn't anything we were blown away by, but it wasn't awful either. Just middle of the road. We were told the wait would be about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. That's normal down there this time of year so no big deal. There were pelicans and boats to watch in the harbor and plenty of places to sit and wait. However, it ended up being a 2 hour wait so that kinda sucked. Our server was great! The drinks were delicious and the food was okay. Our daughter particularly loved the fried pickles! Overall, it's a good place, but go on an off time or there will be a long wait!
I had the grouper platter. The green beans were the best thing on the plate. How is it, at a seafood restaurant, that the best thing on my plate was the green beans? I confess I ate it all because I was starving. I suppose that’s the point. It really doesn’t have to be good because after a long day at the beach and the limited number of dining choices, whatcha gonna do?
We have been coming here for years and this visit today was absolutely disgusting!!! We had a hair in our food! The hush puppies are frozen not even freshly made, the firecracker shrimp isn’t even spicy! The gumbo was barley even lukewarm with two pieces of gumbo and what’s with no tables larger than 6?We had six adults one of which didn’t need a chair because of a wheelchair and ONE CHILD and they made a big deal about us sitting together so we won’t be back ever again!Lastly, you can tell these servers have a script they follow because they aren’t from here and it’s new ownership! The dressing was jello so there’s that too
I read reviews on wait times so we went at 4pm and no wait. Windy day so we sat inside. We had 8 in our group so we sat at 2 tables. My husband got tacky shrimp and said was really good. I got tacky jack burger and it was really really good. Fries ok. Service was good and would go back to eat outside weather permitting
Abby, our waitress, was very attentive to our needs. It took a little time (not too bad though) for our appetizer to come out, but after that, our main courses made it to us in a timely manner. I had the fish tacos and they were very good. I only wish that it came with sides that were more complimentary. As it is, it comes with fresh tortilla chips and a (very) small container of salsa. Some black beans and rice would have rounded the meal out better, but the tacos were awesome which made me forget about anything else. The rest of the family seemed well pleased, and we all left the table contented. I definitely would recommend Tacky Jacks to anyone who will listen! Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention the Mexican garbage nachos... they are a great way to get your hungry crowd to settle down for dinner. Check out Tacky Jacks at one of their locations... you won't be disappointed! ?
Food was 'decent', drinks were "fine". Server was very nice and service was prompt. Nachos were a decent value at $16 which counteracted the cute 'bowl' of Seafood Gumbo was maybe a 'cup' worth for just under $10 with a shrimp in it, but with a $h!t-ton of rice in it; maybe they were running out. It was tasty though!Again, its 'fine', and I added a star for the ocean view. We'll be back since the food's not bad, and its got a killer view.EDITED 3/25/2022We went to Thursday night Karaoke and had 4 dynamite tappers and a fist full of waters. I got my bar tab and it was only $16. So after tip for the sweet/attentive bar tender, and super accommodating/well organized karaoke dude, with the golden pipes, we had a great evening for $30! Still not 'tickled pink' about the upstairs restaurant, but great service, still staying at 4 stars. Cheers!
Awesome place for lunch on the water! Everything we ordered was delicious and came out quickly. Our server Jodi was great! Pro tip..(Get the Bushwhacker) We will be coming back next time we are in town.
