We were seated quickly on a Friday evening. The waiter was very friendly. We had our appetizers delivered very quickly. The gator bites and fried pickles were really good. The half shrimp and half fish basket was really delicious. My husband had the combination basket and was good too. The waiter didn't come back for refills after we got our food, so we were thirsty, but other than that, it was a good experience.
We really enjoyed this place. We stopped for lunch, while they were busy it didn’t take long to seat us and take our order. We all really liked our meals and portions were plenty. Good local food, highly recommend!
I Enjoyed a hamburger and hubby had a patty melt with fries. It was good as usual. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
Super yummy! Fries were over salted during our visit but the po boy I got was MASSIVE and the gator bites were delicious. Would definitely return!
I had the most beautiful and most horrifying experience at this restaurant. It first started with love at first site. I saw her and fell in love. The first Bloody Mary I’ve ever had and she was gorgeous. I named her Dee and I loved Dee. When I got a taste of her I lost all control and ate all of her. We laughed, we cried she was the best. RIP Dee, the best Bloody Mary ever. My first and my last.
My daughter and I had a late lunch at Fish River while visiting Gulf Shores. The food was excellent and the waitress was super friendly and attentive. A complimentary serving of swamp soup is served with your meal, despite the name and look of it do NOT pass it up! Best soup that I've ever had and I don't normally like collard greens. We both got the Gulf Shrimp Platter and the portions were beyond generous especially for the price. Will definitely be back on our next trip if I don't make it back before the week is over!
Vacationing with family and heard about this place online…it did not disappoint. The restaurant was on an hour and a half wait but we chose to stay and try it. They did not disappoint! Had the fried pickles and fried gator bites as appetizers to share with the table and the portions were huge! Variety of food ordered…OMG Shrimp Po’Boy, fried shrimp platter, fried white fish basket, cheeseburger (which was gigantic!) and kid’s fried shrimp. All were delicious! Cole slaw and fries were fresh and tasty. Plan your visit early, right at opening , or late…closer to closing. Service was good and everyone was very friendly! Not much ambience as it is located in a strip mall but the food is worth the lack of “flare”. Prices were reasonable and family friendly. We will be back on our next visit to Gulf Shores.
There were so many choices and after we placed our order, we were enticed by watching others get theirs!
Our family had a great experience. So good we went back a second time! The swamp soup was very good and the portions were big. Also I am highly allergic to sea food and they were able to accommodate me so that my seafood loving family could get their fill. We highly recommend!
A friend recommended this restaurant and I was very skeptical when arriving. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was wonderful with very good portions at a reasonable price. Our group tried the fish, shrimp and Philly steak sandwich. The swamp soup was a hit! Service was great as well.
