Nice place for lunch with friends. Between the four of us we sampled BBQ and vegetables including okra, pintos, greens, fried squash, sweet potato fluff, green beans, slaw and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was just okay, nut everything else was excellent. Cornbread, Texas toast and tea were good too. About 10 minutes before the restaurant opened, there were a dozen cars in the parking lot and a half hour later every table was taken with a line waiting to get in. You would think the noise would make conversation impossible, but that wasn't the case at all. We will definitely return.

Fast and courteous service. The young man at the window taking the order was very kind, nice, friendly. He smiled said thank you during the entire process. They also have great food.

There was a lot of people there so I thought I’d go in and try it. I ordered a small bbq sandwich onion ring and baked beans because the waitress said they were good. It was awful!!! The worst food I’ve ever eaten!! The bbq tasted like straight up lighter fluid!! The beans were awful. Very little flavor the onions rings were barely ok. It was a waste of $10! I ate 3 bites of the sandwich and 2 of the beans!! I even tried the meat without the bun hoping it would be better. But it wasn’t! If that’s what all those people thought was good food then I can take them somewhere that is good but Pruitts is definitely not it!!! Don’t waste your money!!

Ordered small BBQ with extra sauce and a large Dr. Pepper. The bun was cold to the touch as if it had been under refrigeration. I only ate the bottom piece. The very small amount of BBQ was also cold. The drink was a diet drink so I didn't drink it. I vomited the sandwich back about an hour after eating. I was very sick and had restroom problems as well.

Horrible, period..food not good. They put a dab of meat on sandwich, baked beans nasty. I don't understand

When we decided that our layover on our roadtrip from Dallas to Tennessee was going to be in Gadsen, Alabama, I started looking for a dinner place for that evening. We try to avoid "chain/fast food" restaurants and go local when we travel. Not always easy. But, landed on Pruett's BBQ, Fried Chicken & Homecooking, only a few miles from our motel. We headed over there. Tony is a Texan and has certain expectations about BBQ -- for him, the BBQ wasn't quite up to par -- he ordered mixed (beef and pork) and received a plate of chopped meat with sauce on top. The fried ocra was good, but the beans were unimpressive. I am not a Texan and don't even really like BBQ (gasp), so I opted for the Fried Chicken (25 minutes upon ordering), Mac n Cheese and HushPuppies. The Fried Chicken (I got dark meat) had EXCELLENT crust and was super tender. The mac n cheese was cheesy, but not awesome. The hushpuppies were, well hushpuppies. Tony agreed that the Fried Chicken was great. So, for a review: if you're from Texas, probably stay away from the BBQ and go for the Fried Chicken (or maybe even their catfish or homestyle daily screen door specials). Oh, and BBQ toast is just a different name for Texas Toast.

Always great food. Been eating here for years!

Always a classic. Used to be 10 for 10 and now more like 10 for 15 but the sandwiches are totally worth it.

The BBQ Used to be good, No tastes smoke flavor just bland...

We chose to dine at Pruett's Bar B Q based on Trip Advisor's reviews. The staff works diligently to sit guests as soon as possible. The restaurant and its restrooms are clean. Barbecue sauce is kept in a bottle on the table! (Thank you.) Our pork barbeque, fried squash, French fries, corn on the cob, green beans, potato salad, and turnip greens were all perfectly tasty. Prices were fair, and our waitress as well as all other waitresses were exceptionally attentive to all of their guests. We will certainly return to dine again if we are ever driving through the area!
