excellent food ? and service

Ordered steak $25 for ny strip and $7 for 6 grill shrimp no baked potato so had to get steak fries. It finally shows up waitress drops and turns away. Said need more sweet tea been empty 10 min. Well I had to stop her 10 min later help another table not busy. And I need a knife can not eat steak without it. By time she 1/2 filled my tea and gave me knife steak walk Luke warm at best. Full of fat and fries soaked from 3/4” of liquid in Plate. Never again eat at this place. Waste of time and my money. She drops off bill and turns away. Paid online. And if wanted me to give 18% tip. Sorry no

great food and service! will definitely be back!

I deeply appreciate places like this with truck parking nearby. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Can't think of a single negative thing to say.

We were on a road trip with a plan to not stop at any chain restaurants when we happened upon Barney’s. What a find. Recommend the fried pickles, shrimp basket and the gulf shrimp. Tonya was our server and she was outstanding. We are not likely to be in the area again, but if we are, there will be a return visit.

Good food, friendly folks and ice cold beers, a family friendly/Trucker friendly establishment. I had the fried green tomatoes, and the grilled pork chops and apple cobbler for dessert, very good very flavorful, the cobbler just melts in your mouth..Definitely will be getting a return visit from me whenever I am in the area..Will note, that they open late and close early..Happy travels......

I had a salad, baked potato and fried green tomatoes. Only things I'd do differently is slice the tomatoes thinner. No thicker than 3 nickels stacked together. They would cook faster and would absorb more of the seasonings in the batter which would help them taste even yummier. The batter is good, crunchy without being too thick and too hard to chew, and it stays intact really well! The only other thing I'd change is switch margarine for real butter.Little things like that make a big difference in flavor. The place is decorated nicely, it's very clean and the employees are super nice. I recommend!

I am giving only 2 stars because my quesadilla was good and it is next to a truckstop where a trucker might get a decent meal. (But please don't drink and drive) When you walk in there is a sign that states to sit your self in bar area. (Not very nice for someone who doesn't like or need to be around alcohol). They are playing Christian music in a bar. SMH. (I personally have no problem with Christian music just not in a bar or bar setting.) There was only one waitress that I seen. It was kinda slow when we were there but it took 5 min after I got my food to get silverware. My husband had to send his food back not once but twice and didn't get dinner until we where home. The 1st time was he said no onions but it came out with onions. By the look of the plate and the quickness it came back out, they either picked the onions out or scraped the gravy off and placed some more gravy without onions on the meat. Eithway not the way to fix a mistake. But he didn't say anything until he found (See pictures) a hair in his mashed potatoes. Yuk!!! We did get a discount on my meal and they of course took his meal off ticket. But all in all we will probably never be back. Don't go by the old menus on the reviews I have placed the most recent one in my pictures. So as of 6/22/2022 the menu I posted is correct. The waitress did state they were getting new menus but did not state when. If my review was helpful please ? hit the like button.

We have been to Barney’s many times especially on Sundays after church. But we had lunch there on Wednesday this week? My husband had the quesadilla and I had the hamburger steak. Both the best we ever had. Service is great and super friendly staff. MUST try it.

We had stopped at the Petro Tuck Stop for the evening. I saw the reviews on Barney's, tired of food from our truck fridge, thought why not. What a wonderful meal. I had the Shrimp Burrito. It was perfection. Nicely plated, the shrimp fresh and plump, and the perfect combinations of flavor. My husband finshed it off, he loved it. His spaghetti was a hit too. Nice to meet the owner, too. She was a joy, as was the server. Never go through Gadsden without stopping by Barney's, you won't regret it.
