We went here for our 50th wedding anniversary. Big mistake, The food was great,but it was not at all what I wanted our special day to be. To begin with, they do not take reservations. It is strictly first come first served and reminded me of a cattle call. The line is always long or so I’ve been told. The wait was not too bad considering. My husband got the Wolf Bay seafood platter. It was excellent. I got the Traditional Seafood platter. It is a combination of scallops, shrimp and Tasso in creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce. It actually is baby shrimp, maybe one scallop which was cut into tiny pieces and mostly Tasso ham. Not what I envisioned. The bill said Happy Birthday. We weren’t even suggested desert. A huge event in our lives, a huge letdown. So if you’re hungry, the foods pretty good, but go somewhere else for your “special” day.
Good place to eat. We arrived early to avoid the crowd and the place was almost full. Good food and friendly staff. We will be back.
Went to lunch on the way home. We enjoyed our server Pam so much and our food was wonderful as usual. I LOVE LOVE LOVE having a salad bar. Rare now a days.
Fresh and well stocked salad bar. Hush puppies, fried fish, and fries that our finicky kids love. Great grilled shrimp. Several choices on the menu from seafood to sandwiches. Great atmosphere! This is an annual visit for us, number 5 this year, and we have never been disappointed.
This place is great! The staff was absolutely fantastic, we had the Best waitress. She talked to us like we were friends of hers. The owner even came & sat down at our table & gave us a little history about the restaurant. Now on to the good stuff; THE FOOD! Look, make sure you're hungry because they give you plenty as you can see from the photos. My wife had the flounder & it almost covered the plate, I had the steak that was really good & you gotta try the crab ? dip, we weren't disappointed. Hooe you enjoy!
We decided to have our wedding reception at wolf bay lodge after it being our favorite restaurant to visit each year on vacation. Melody was a breeze to work with! She is very responsive and truly works with you to make sure your event is perfect. She took care of ordering the linens for us and they were placed on the table for us as well! She even printed off a cute flyer for the banquet room door! The banquet room is beautifully decorated already, and the food is AMAZING! We decided to have a buffet style dinner with grilled chicken, blackened fish, fried okra, green beans, au gratin potatoes, and a side salad. The food was wonderful to say the least. All of our guests enjoyed the food and we had so many compliments! We even had a private bar for our event, which was awesome! If we ever have another event at the beach we will 100% be using wolf bay lodge!
Been driving by this place for several yrs and looking at their packed parking.lot so today was the day to try. I'm wondering why so many eat there. Just ordinary food which was VERY expensive. Better food, better price elsewhere.
Some of our meal came out cold. Sent some back but not all. Didn’t want to upset the kitchen. Food was ok, but won’t go back again.
I enjoyed the food! The Gumbo is not gumbo, it tasted more like beef stew with shrimp! That really is my only complaint! The food was good and hot when served. Even though it was packed, it did not take long to get our orders. There was also live entertainment and they sung a variety of songs from country to Bob Marley! I will visit again when I am in Foley, Alabama!
They have a lager out of New Orleans as their house beer, so that's a really good deal. Everything on the fried platter was tasty. The fried oysters and shrimp were very good. I really enjoyed the cup of gumbo. There was plenty of food and I brought home a box of leftovers big enough for another meal. Good food, plenty of space, lots of seating for two was available at the bar area if we didn't need the bigger table. Our server handled our group well. It was a good time.
