Place needs cleaning but service good food good
The place has a kind of off-putting smell when entering. Fortunately that was disguised when the grill got busy. Food and service were both very good, and you sure can’t complain about the prices. The same old time diner experience we expect.
Only had 4 tables and the high bar style/counter seats open and blocked off all the rest because there was only 2 people working. the tables were full and when I brought my handicap mom in they wouldn't let her sit at a table in the "closed area" an extra foot from the bar. (Picture is an example, blue line is where they lined up chairs to block it off)
The silverware was dirty, the waiter was nice however he totally neglected the 2 tables that he had. He brought us cold coffee; had to ask him to make a fresh pot. Orders were all correct, we ate...still no hot coffee (hmmm?) We finally got that coffee (to go) when we had to ask for our check, fifteen minutes after we were done eating. It seemed all of the servers were more interested in entertaing one another than paying attention to customers.This was about 8:30 pm.
Service is terrible, the staff seemed very frustrated and unfocused. The first plate we received was biscuits and gravy and the gravy was cold. When we asked for them to warm it up they just dumped it in the garbage and gave us a new plate. I ordered the Jalepeno hashbrowns and it appeared they just tossed a handful of Jalepeno slices in the potatoes so they were all pulled in one spot. None of the food we ordered was good, all blah and the place was so cold. Not a good first experience ?
I go into this waffle house often, so I know the prices. This young girl last night tried to charge me almost double the cost of a two egg breakfast, which happens to be $4.75 I got two of them. So she quotes me like $17.75. Honesty is always a good requirement to teach your servers. This was around 9:45 last night. This was the waffle house on McKenzie street.
Went to eat there around 4pm, completely sober. Only one other table was occupied. The food was very tasty and filling. The customer service was top notch!
Came in knew what I wanted walking in sat for 30 minutes while the girl serving that section just ignored us multiple times I had to ask I know it’s Waffle House but this was just bad worst experience possible never had an issue before but the bigger black girl was just rude
I ordered a steak it was overcooked and unseasoned. Didn't feel like carrying it back. The service was good.
The service and especially the cook did a really good job. The food was good, but a little greasy and both my wife and I had problems when we got home mostly because of the grease.
