Good food and great atmosphere! It's southern comfort food at its finest. If you don't need meat in your meal, you can get a plate for $10 and eat all of the walk around dishes you want. Those include macaroni and tomatoes, black eyed peas, and fried potatoes with onions, just to name a few. There's a reason why they have a basket full of butter on your table. The huge homemade rolls are the BEST!! Oh yeah, they throw the rolls to you, so be prepared to catch a few. And make sure you get some of the apple butter when they walk around with it for your rolls. It's delicious!!

Yes, Joy was our server and she was really spectacular!! Her knowledge of the menu, explanations for all and her sweet ass sense of humor won us over immediately!!! When service seems to be a thing of the past she reminded us that there are still those who care!! Thanks again for sharing your gift and serving us. Yes the rolls were decadent and the apple butter was worth a smoother of it. Fun times and classic comfy food. Thanks The Cranks, Josh and Retta

The bread here is the best. Food is great and you get a lot out of what you pay for. The pass around a are the best part. The okra and bread is my favorite.

A popular place. Might be to see the thrown rolls or the good food and generous helping sizes. To avoid or reduce a wait arrive early or in between lunch and dinner.

Waited outside in line but it was about noon and it was a very quick moving line. Friendly people to talk with about their Lambert's experience. We were a little cramped at our table of 4 adults and 2 children. Sides were slow to come around and some came around. We finally ask our server for apple butter and sorghum. The rolls were the best, light, hot melt in your mouth delicious. I ordered the plate of sides, my husband got the chicken livers light, crunchy, not greasy. Best I have ever had. The chicken and dumplings were more like noodles than dumplings but had a good taste. The kid meals were chicken tenders and they were light and tender. The meatloaf was delicious. We didn't have dessert but we all left with leftovers. All the signs and antiques were fun to look at too. We bought 2 of those huge cinnamon rolls to have for breakfast the next morning and they did not disappoint. Plenty of icing with a light and flakey texture. All in all one of our favorite things about Gulf Shores.

I’m from Louisiana if that helps anyone decide. This place has a nice atmosphere, moves fairly fast, and has great food. Our server was amazing and worked quickly and efficiently. After one roll and some of my tea (which was very good btw), I was starting to feel full. The food came quickly as well and the passing people were nice. It will probably be hard to find parking but it’s worth it. My only complaint is that I wish the tomato macaroni stuff was cheddar Mac and cheese. If that was the case, I would probably move over here. Speaking of moving over here, those bread rolls are the best bread I’ve ever had in my life. The smell is enough to make me want to move here and the taste, especially with the butter, made me want to marry whoever cooked it. Hot bread and hot food. Great place overall

We eat out a lot. My daughters have worked in food service, so I am always patient and on the side of food service. In this case the hostess was in the wrong. We were a party of seven and seated at a table for maybe 4-5. If we would have had small children with us, this table would have worked. MyBIL is 6’ 7” and my daughter 6’. She was asked to sit in a chair on the side right next to a bigger empty table. We should have never been seated at that table in the first place. The hostess raised her voice and said she wouldn’t know the size of our party?? What does that even mean? She said she had 50 something people waiting etc. We also waited for a table . Then she said a few other things and told my SIL to have a lovely day. It was a very odd and uncomfortable experience. Our server was wonderful as was the food, but my SIL should not have been treated this way as a customer.

Having sat outside for 45 minutes in 92 degree heat we were shown to our table which was for 6 people and a chair at one end for the 7 of us. There was absolutely no room on the table for when we would have received our food so took it upon ourselves to move to an 8 seated right next door where we was approached by one of the hostesses who wanted to know why we moved. She was extremely rude and told us that she had 52 people waiting outside to be seated and ended the conversation with a very rude and sarcastic " you have a lovely day" and walked away. We are Foley residents and brought our family here for their first visit what a great introduction to Lamberts.

We love the “thrown rolls” The rolls are amazing! The atmosphere here is so fun. We had excellent service and the food is good. I recommend chicken tenders, fried chicken and meatloaf. Fried potatoes and corn were great! Fried okra, carrots and macaroni with tomatoes definitely under seasoned. Go early to lessen the wait time!

If you have not been to Lambert’s, you’re missing the good food and the show! They actually throw rolls at you. We both ordered chicken fried steak and ended up taking home half of our food …. Because you get your meal with your two sides and rolls and they also have “pass arounds” (servers walk around with pots of of fried okra, macaroni and tomatoes, fried potatoes and onions, boiled cabbage and black eyed peas and you can have as much as you want). All of the food was great! My favorites were the apple butter they give you to go with your yeast rolls and the pineapple walnut salad. You definitely have to try both of those items. We’ll definitely be back, if in this area again!
