We spent a couple of days here for a quick getaway. It's best to go in the summer as the big draw here is the pool. It's large and has a slide and swim-through waterfall and is obviously much larger than most hotel pools. I didn't go to the spa, but I'm sure it's nice if you want to splurge. The restaurant in the lobby was fine for breakfast, but rather expensive for a simple meal. The fine dining restaurant is a show-stopper, as it is 5 stories up in a circular building that rotates 360 degrees with views of the Tennessee River, Florence, and Muscle Shoals. If you want to spend a lot of money for the view, it's a nice treat. However, we chose not to eat there as I saw the menu and decided it wasn't worth it this time as we were trying to keep costs down. The staff is very accommodating and try to make you feel like you are in a luxurious resort. We'll probably come here again and try out the spa and restaurant mentioned above. It's a nice place that's only 2 1/2 hours from our home. There's also other things to see in the surrounding area that we enjoy so it's a win-win. My only negative comment is that the bathroom needs to have an exhaust fan. I always mention this in many of the hotels we visit. This should be standard for all hotels.

The rooms are ok, bathroom has shower and separate tub. The bed was OK, but slightly less comfortable with 2 people in it; I believe I saw a review pointing out some flaws to the beds at this hotel. The AC was OK, but it never got to the temperature we set it on. We had a nice view of the Wilson Dam from the balcony. The hotel has no competition and is priced at astronomical levels. There isnt much to do or see around, but it is a nice and quiet area.

I typically consider Marriott properties to be a safe bet. I have always expected their properties to be well-managed and that a good night's sleep will occur. This did NOT take place at this hotel. I have never slept on such a poor mattress in a hotel. The slightest move created a wave effect for my wife - we both experienced extreme partner disturbance (to use the lingo of the mattress industry). For what I paid for the room, I expected a much higher quality experience. The views offered by the balconies of each hotel room are beautiful. All overlook the swimming pool. However, we were surprised upon opening the door to our balcony by how loud the music was at the pool. There was no peaceful escape from the music. The music was even louder poolside. It felt like the equivalent of sitting in a cowboy bar while lounging poolside. It was all my wife and I could do to talk with each other by the pool without having to raise our voices to be heard. In a day and age when personal listening devices are so abundant, why does the hotel management feel the need to create a bar-like environment in a setting that could be so peaceful? When we checked out, I informed the front desk employee of our mattress concerns and how poorly we slept. She behaved as a deer in headlights. In fairness, when we called two days later and spoke with a manager, an adjustment was made to our bill. However, it does not make up for the worst night of sleep I have had while traveling. It is a great location. It's a shame the hotel doesn't match up to its setting.

This hotel was not clean. The bathroom especially. There were nasty little hairs on the shelf in the shower, in the sink and on the counter. I told the front desk and they said they would tell housekeeping and that was it. The place needs to be renovated but I can overlook that as long as it’s kept clean.

Marriott Florence is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It's more of a semi-resort. While not inexpensive, it is worth the pricing from rooms to dining, etc. The covered patio area is great! I ate there with my 3 sisters and brother over a couple of days. One staff server, LAUREN, was particularly outstanding. She was polite, charming, and excellent in her knowledge of the menu. The rest of the hotel staff were also outstanding: when you enter the main building, 2 or 3 doormen are right there and open the doors for you both coming and going. This is a great place!

I have stayed here a few times/year since 2011. The rooms have gradually deteriorated as shown by the pictures of the balcony and frig cabinet. Worst of all was the rock keeping the stair doorway open. This was inexcusable. Unfortunately there are not any better options in the area. Very disappointed Bonvoy member.

This hotel is located outside of the city near the river. The parking lot is spacious, the lobby is large with a nice live bar that plays great music. They have a hotel that over looks the diver and the menu offers a large variety of food. The restaurant spins so you are able to see the great scenery. Now the actual hotel and rooms seem to be a little dated. The rooms are nice and the bed is comfortable but overall rooms could use an upgrade or renovation. Overall great stay.

We are from Oregon and we met up with our family from Mississippi. We had a suite with a connecting room- that was perfect for our family. The whole hotel was very clean, great staff. We spent most of our time at the pool. A water slide is fun for all ages. Lunch in the rotating restaurant was such a neat experience and the food was delicious. We hope to come back and visit someday and would tell anyone who asks- this is a great place to stay. It was in the middle of Alabama but reminded me of resorts in Hawaii and Florida that we stayed at. The only thing was there was no ocean on the outside of the property.

Not sure why all the five star reviews. The service was good and it has some Live music in the bar. Other than that the hotel outside and inside needs a complete makeover. It looked dirty on the outside exterior. The interior had newer carpet, but the bathroom looked like the tile hadn’t ever been replaced. There was black mildew/mold on the grout. The handles for the tub and shower were extremely difficult to turn or adjust and were heavily rusted. The bed linens were good. But overall for $280 in Florence, Alabama, that hotel should be much nicer. Marriott hotels have completely over looked the up keep of this establishment.

We had a wonderful weekend stay. Matthew at the front desk was welcoming and friendly when we arrived. He gave us a great overview of the hotel and also recommended 360 for dinner and sunset. Keri was our waitress at 360 and she was wonderful, friendly, but professional and attentive. We enjoyed both our meal and the sunset. I would like to come back in the summer and enjoy the pool area.
