Smokey Joe's in Dothan Alabama was the best place I have ever in my life eaten at their food was by far the best bbq I've had

Went here for lunch. Nice place food seemed good just wasn't too happy with my burger. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare and it was well done.

The best damn BBQ I've had. The fried pickles for app and the Tuesdays All-you-can eat ribs... The staff was super friendly and the home atmosphere brings the whole dinning experience to a top notch level.

Service is excellent. The smoke meats is a 6 out of 10. Did not like the coleslaw. The flavor was off for me. As for the baked beans I like mine baked not cooked on the stove. Over all the restaurant is a good place to eat. Better than most. I will eat there again to try something new. I rathered like the place. The French fries was good next time I'll get them with pulled pork and cheese over them.

I placed a to go order 2x and was told it would be 20 to 25 minutes so I allowed at least 30 minutes both times. 1st time I waited an additional 45 minutes when I got there before getting food. 2nd time I got there waited and extra 35 minutes total hour. Someone checked on it and they had not even started preparing my food. 1 hour later I got my food. Food is good and friendly people but waiting and hour for 2 chicken wraps. I can see waiting 5 to 10 minutes but an hour is a little bit much for chicken wraps. Don’t know if I will be back ?

The menu is great for a local BBQ spot. I enjoyed the 2 meat plate I got with pulled pork and ribs. The sides are delicious as well! Definitely stop by if you are looking for good local bbq!

While waiting for my to-go order there was a little boy around 5-6yr old walking around behind the counter and literally smacking the waitresses and cashiers on the bottom. You could tell this embarrassed them but you could also tell they were horrified to really do anything about it as if it was the owners kid.

Recently got food there for the first time and it will be the last. It's a "bar-b--que" joint - which is fine - we need those! but was feeling in the mood for a hamburger. You'd think a burger wouldn't be that challenging for a bbq place, but it was awful - I'd have done better at a fast food place. It was obviously a mass market frozen patty, and even though it was advertised as a "smoked" burger, it was tasteless. It was ordered "all the way" but the tomato was half a cherry tomato, not a slice. The cheese I ordered was nowhere to be seen. One anemic piece of soggy iceberg lettuce. But I still can't get past how bad the meat was; it was embarrassing. As bad as the burger was, I thought surely the sides would be good since they're options for all the bbq dishes. Wrong. Onion rings were hard as rocks - I've never had any that make a knocking noise when you tap them on a table. Potato salad was more like lumpy mashed potatoes. They weren't terrible and what people like to eat is subjective so maybe folks like that, but I'm not one of them. Green beans were acceptably seasoned canned beans. Since it was a first time for us, we also ordered a pizza just to see if we would discover a new place to get that. OMG If you need a pizza, save time and go across the street to the Dollar General and get a frozen one. They advertise the crust as house made, and it's possible it was, but any advantages of that were badly negated by the cheese and sauce. You almost have to try to make pizza that bad. I know Smokey Joe's has its fans, and I'm happy to give my spot to them. Won't be back. To end on a positive note: the online ordering site is well-designed (even if you don't get any kind of acknowledgement that your order has been accepted, other than a charge to your credit card). The staff was friendly. The order was ready when expected.

Im going to keep it short and simple. The waitress was great very sweet and the only thing warm on my plate was the fries. The chicken looked like it was kept in the fridge and was extremely cold BBQ pork was the same way. That was $50 wasted on two meal's. They will never get me again. Next I will just got to McDonald's at least my food will be hot.

For the money we spent, the quality of food was subpar. The brisket tasted commercial like it was in a plastic bag, and they steamed it. They were out of sliced pork, so they subbed chopped. ( how does a bbq restaurant run out of sliced pork?) It was dry, and tasted old. The wings and baked beans were the best thing we ordered. The staff was friendly and helpful.
