Best sushi chef in Dothan. Get the spring roll!
Let me begin by saying the only negative I have ever found here is the signs need some updating TLC. It's clean, entertaining, SO YUMMY ? ?, & just always a good experience. I will say since covid the changed to more brief paper menus. But it's not a problem. We always order the mikata special which is steak & scallops for 2 & a shrimp meal for our 9 yr old. We do pay extra for filet though. But nobody even w/ the lesser cuts of steak have ever complained.

The individual(s) who take phone orders are entirely incompetent. I have repeatedly placed an order via phone, clearly saying what I would like and then asking before hanging up to ensure they understood exactly what I was ordering; they always say yes. Then when picking up my order, I ask to make sure it was prepared correctly, only to have them look at me like I’m crazy. They unbag my meal and act surprised when it isn’t right, which results in me having to wait while they redo my order. I would suggest they hire someone who can take orders over the phone properly or get an app they which people can place their orders through.
I’ve been to this place a hundred times since they opened. Great date night. Great food. I’ve never had better sushi anywhere. It’s easy to get in and out of and next to Walmart north. The parking lot is not big enough to accommodate an RV but if you don’t mind the walk from Walmart, then you should love the food and experience. I love watching them cook on the grill. It’s very entertaining. About 8 people sit at one grill. It’s like I have an extended family. Since they cook all the food on one grill, all the food seems to have similar flavors. I absolutely love the dining experience. Went there on my birthday one year and they brought out a pineapple boat with an umbrella as my birthday cake. It’s a great place for date night. Beer is cold.
Waitress was rude. Waitress even ASKED for a tip!! Cook was nice and good. Just a little heavy handed with the salt shaker.
Food was amazing, the chefs are always entertaining. Overall good vibe.
Great performance. A bit of a wait but we'll worth it! Definitely coming back

My husband did not get the steak he ordered. There was no description of the meals . And the food tasted slightly fishy . It was nowhere near as good as it used to be.
