So so delicious!! The sauce, the food, the service, the atmosphere was so awesome. We loved the bbq chicken, the massive potatoes and the coconut cream pie. The white sauce was so good. We had to order some when we got home.
Friendly and fast service, delicious sweet tea. Smoked chicken was really really good. Everything else was just so-so. Brisket was flavorless and dry, “pulled” pork was more like chopped pork, not much flavor and dry. Mac n cheese was pretty good and the baked beans weren’t bad, had a depth of flavor and tang to them.
Absolutely delicious! I had the award winning spare ribs and my husband had the beef brisket. The ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone and the briskets was so tender and juicy.
I found this restaurant on our way back from a trip to Florida with my family of six. It had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. Although our waitress was not very attentive the food was very good. The pies were absolutely delicious and the portions for everything were more than enough. I would certainly tell people who love barbecue to give this place a try. The only thing I wish they would’ve had was cornbread or a homemade roll. I was splurging on my meal and it looked like Hawaiian rolls bought from a store:( That is my daughter in the pic. She got the loaded potato appetizer as her meal, which could have fed us all.
I live about an hour from Decatur and have eaten at Big Bob's sporadically for many years. I have never had any reason to complain and love their homemade pies. However, today my pulled pork Bar-Be-Q sandwich was really not fit to eat. The pork was extremely dry, tough and tasteless. The slaw had little flavor as well. Even the hot sauce was bland. My wife was unhappy with her pork sandwich also. I will go back but if this happens again with any order, I will go elsewhere.
We had visited Big Bob Gibsons many times over a decade ago. Was very dissatisfied in what we had today. The beef brisket was dry, almost to the point of being inedible. Without any sauce the brisket was terrible. The meat on each rib had about 1/3 that was not chewable. Texture was equivalent to tuff rawhide. The potato salad was room temperature warm. I get the impression the restaurant really doesn’t care anymore. My how things had changed over a decade. To many other bbq places that are so much better. I can no longer recommend Big Bob Gibsons. Do your self a favor and check out other local bbq venues.
My lord I’ve never been so full in my life. Everything was so good my family left happy and so puppy belly we could hardly walk. Hubby had the chicken and then bought 2nds. I had brisket plate, and son had brisket nachos. We all shared stew. Man it was just all so good.
Amazing greeter and customer service! Because the restaurant is so highly recommended there wasn’t much left on the menu. We got there on a Friday evening 1hr before they closed, dining in. Even with a limited menu, the food options were amazing, with fast service and friendly staff! Thank you for the kids menu as my 3yr old unfortunately has limited options for food enjoyment! He loved the hot dog, mac-n-cheese, and milk. Mac-n-cheese ?????? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Potato salad ?????? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chicken Breast ??????⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ Pork Shoulder ??????⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chocolate Pie ?????? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you!
Big Bob's has a southern decor, Covid protocol good staff, parking, menu BBQ chicken, roast, pork. I enjoyed chicken & ice tea. Lots of local customers, equal mix male & female median age 35.
LOVED the BBQ. Their brisket is the best that I have ever tasted. The sides were really good, loved the baked beans. Ribs were amazing, we could barely finish our food. The portion size were pretty big. We stumbled upon this gem on a road trip back from New Orleans and si happy we found it.
