I finally ate Alfonso's in their new location and I must say they didn't disappoint. The food is just as good as its always been. I love how they put so much yummy cheese on their dishes. The environment is clean and I like the new set up. I would definitely recommend Alfonso's in Decatur!
We had the spaghetti bake, the regular portion not the lunch portion, and it was enough for two of us to eat. Although the taste was very good due to the layer of cheese underneath was small spaghetti noodles but unfortunately very thin watery sauce.I would have given it five stars and been much happier if the marinara sauce was thicker because as it was it was fairly watery even though it did have a decent taste. I might would go back another time to try the pizza and I might would try the bake spaghetti again but if the sauce is not any thicker I have no doubt the end result will be the same and I most likely would not have a third visit.
The best pizza in town!! Reasonable priced and pretty good service!! Can get very busy! But worth the wait!
Was recommended by a some locals from Cross Eyed Owl Brewing. I have to admit, this place has the best meat sauce from a local italian restaraunt I have ever had. The meatballs are a bit overcooked and tough. But that's not too big of a deal!
We had the Chefs Special and loved it. The spaghetti and meatballs were good too.
We were seated quickly and courteously. The food came fast and hot. I got the chicken parmesan and my wife the Meatballs. Everything was delicious and fairly priced. We will definitely go back next time in town.
Always fast friendly and fresh we love Alfonso’s and you will too
Alfonso's was recommended to me by a local while I was traveling here on business. Lovely wait staff, attentive manager, bar selection was small but well stocked, the menu had all the classics, my order was out fast and was well prepared. My biggest compliments to the meal prep team at Alfonso's because it looked like every plate and pizza they brought out was what other Italian restaurants use in advertising. The ingredients were of a good quality and my chicken fettuccini alfredo was great, delicious and fresh. If you're in Decatur, I recommend checking them out.
We really liked this place when it was in its original location. Now, it's extremely small packed and over crowded on the inside. The environment is just not the same as well as the food has changed. I would also say that if you're eating at an Italian based restaurant then you would expect to get a decent salad. Here, you get tons of lettuce with a few croutons...thats pretty much it. There's no creativity at all.
My grandmother and I stopped in while we were out and checked out the pizza and fettuccine. This place is amazing! Best pizza I have had this side of the Atlantic, no doubt! We will be coming back and bringing family!
