We stopped in for a lunch one day and found that while the staff was friendly and helpful that the service and food was just good but not great. We heard that they had a full service bar downstairs but I think the bar was closed for some reason. We had pizza and it was decent.Urban Cowgill
I ordered a small everything pizza, no green olives. Pizza was covered in them. The pizza was also several dollars more than online price. I also ordered wings. They had full feathers still attached!! FULL FEATHERS!!! GROSS does not begin to describe it. They refunded the money, but said they do not clean the chicken because it would take too much time. If I could post a picture, I would. A ruined meal.
Unfriendly and discriminatory waitress. After receiving our drinks and waiting patiently for some time for our waitress to come take our orders, she bypassed us instead and proceeded to clear the table top next to us where she seated four men and took their orders. Since she did not return to take our orders, my husband and I decided to leave without any acknowledgment that we were even there. We went to the Bbq place down the street where we were greeted with a smile and our food arrived promptly. Now I know why the restaurant is called Grumpy’s.
I don't live in Cullman but show this place on my way back home. Nice small place. Seems family owned possibly. The food was good, better than i was expecting. Staff was super friendly. The prices were decently priced. I got the chicken Alfredo and i believe it was 10 or 11 bucks. I would eat there again if i go back to Cullman. They also have their own shirts you can buy also. Oh and they have an outside dine area too if u like that.
Today is Saturday, April 30, 2022. We called at 7:44pm and was told that “take out” was NOT an option, and that we had to “Dine In”, but that the dining room was closing at 8:30pm.At 7:46pm we called back to try to place our order in advance and just sit down to eat when we got there. This too was not an option. KEEP IN MIND, I WAS FOUR BLOCKS AWAY WHEN I CALLED!Less than 10 minutes later as we approached the door a young female employee was hanging a “Closed” sign on the front window. After much back and forth between some obnoxious bearded punk sitting at a Point of Sale terminal, the decision was finally made that I could place a “to go” order. Before their decision was agreed upon, the beard at the computer tried to tell me that I had to go around back to the bar and eat while listening to the local donkeys bray into a microphone while the slaughtered today latest county music hits!As a visitor to Cullman, this sets a HORRIBLE example of local hospitality and not only will I NEVER come here again for a meal, but I can promise you that I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW ABOUT THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED in all of my 53 years.
It's a nice Italian restaurant and bar. I really like the difference between upstairs and the Down Under. Good food, great staff. Will be coming back for more.
Super friendly staff, knowledgeable about their food, willing to substitute and/or omit ingredients. Not only family friendly, friends gather and business netting going on while we were there.
I absolutely loved the service (immaculate) and the food(so good I had the chicken carbonara Alfredo meal)I think it was such a smart business move having the bar downstairs! Totally family restaurant style upstairs and opportunity to hangout downstairs…as a momma I thought that was so neat to have it separated. So looking forward to going back to catch a band.
Nice people delicious food. Good for Cullman area and a must try if you are visiting the area. Delicious pizza.
Just left this place and I gotta say im grumpy.....this place is to Italian food the same as tacobell is to mexican ...it was awful we had dry no salt potato skins...watery overly sweet lasagna the meat was mush ..had the Alfred carbonara it had a cup of water on bottom of the dish the "chicken" was the microwaveable kind you get at walmart already cut and cooked and the sauce was definitely off brand jar sauce but the bread was really good ....id stay away unless you want over priced not tasty fake Italian food
