I enjoy eating at Yummefy any time I happen to be in that area of town. This time I walked over from Kirklin Clinic and arrived by myself about noon on a Monday and there were only a few other people dining in. They had someone stationed at the entrance to handle takeout orders, and he directed me to sit at the bar overlooking the kitchen. I recognized the couple that owns the place cooking in the kitchen. The server promptly took my order, asking my choice of how spicy to make it, and the food came out quickly. My order was (mild spicy) “Coconut Curry - Chicken or tofu cooked with fresh coconut & house spices, $11.95.” They brought me white rice in a bowl, and the coconut curry chicken chunks in a plastic container so I could ladle it out onto the rice. They also brought a small container of an orange sauce that I tasted but wasn’t crazy about, and I didn’t need it anyway since the coconut curry sauce was so good. The only minor issue was that the server charged me for the wrong entrée which cost me a couple extra bucks, but I should have asked her to show me the details on the tablet before giving her my card. I think she just made an honest mistake.

Dining here was a terrible experience. First, when we initially got inside, we were told to sit at a table and nothing more. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We sat there for about 5-10 minutes while the guy serving us was doing side work and putting together to go orders. Eventually I get up and ask if we’re supposed to get our own drinks. He says yes. It would have been nice if he initially told us this. I also saw him making drinks for everyone else who came in after us. Weird. Time passes and being that I’ve never been here, I get up and ask him how we are supposed to order. He said he’ll take our order and yells that he’s coming. He comes and takes the order shortly after. The food came out in a timely manner but it was mediocre at best. The vegetarian rolls were ok, the edamame was too salty to eat, and the drunken noodles were alright but the chicken was over cooked or possibly reheated and it was overly oily. He never once came to the table to ask how the food was tasting. Eventually we eat what we can of the meal and continue to sit there an excessive amount of time. At this point, there are 3 other people there at 2 different tables. It wasn’t busy at all. He eventually sees that we’re both staring his way and yells that he’s coming yet again. He hands us a bill and points to the top of it where there is a QR code. In order to pay here, you must pay from your phone, so odd. I paid the ticket and we raced out of there as fast as we could—after moving the velvet rope they had trapping us in—and we will never go back! I’m shocked they’re still open.

I do understand how difficult it must be to offer good food AND good service. This place has decent food but the customer service is TERRIBLE. I can’t deal with employees with bad attitudes, it overshadows good food every time.I came in to pick up an online order, upon entry I was not greeted, nor acknowledged. I sat behind the counter patiently for a few minutes before I decided to walk to the bar and tell them I had an online order. That’s when the little man exploded on me and pointed for me to go wait in the waiting area. I understand the policies, there is still a way to talk to people no matter the situation. You can’t talk to grown men like they’re children. If you want people to wait in the front, have someone to greet them at the front, or at least acknowledge guest who enter and tell them you’ll be right with them. I ended up coming back in to get soy sauce for my to go order, the little man did not seem happy that I asked for it.The little man in the photograph with the cap had a repugnant attitude and he’s the reason I cannot visit this establishment again.

Clean facility. Friendly people. Lots of variety. Good lighting. Great lunch spot.

We ordered chicken chow mein. $12 No chicken. My 10 year can cook better. No taste. Also ordered pork belly. Come on. Zero taste. Zero texture and attention to portion size. I’m a food writer from London and have to say I spent $45 and threw all of it away.

Seems to be family run and the quality and care for customers shows. Clean, prompt and the food is loaded with flavor. We stopped on our way from Texas to Tennessee and it worked in our tight schedule. Very friendly and fresh delicious dishes. Great little spot in DT Birmingham.

Our food was great and the service was excellent. It was very clean and had a relaxed atmosphere.

Ordered through doordash, i got the yummefy curry chicken indian hot. I can say its very delicious but it wasnt as hot as a expected maybe next time ill get super indian hot lol, Very delicious tho?

First time visiting. Very fast and friendly service. Went in to grab supper to-go, ordered Pad Thai, and they had it ready in only about five minutes. The Pad Thai was not what I’ve become accustomed to from Thai restaurants (it had lots of bell peppers, very few bean sprouts, and the sauce was less sweet), but I wasn’t disappointed - it was good. The serving size was generous and it was fresh and hot. I’d like to return and try some of the curry dishes and other items on their expansive menu.

One of my favorite Asian restaurant in Birmingham downtown where you can get some authentic spicy food. I would highly recommend Spicy Mountain Noodles, Chicken Korma and Tikka Masala.
