Yum Yai is open and has dine-in eating as well as take-out service. Taylor was our server, and she was great. The Pad Thai was very good as was the pork gyoza appetizer. The crab wontons were tasty, but they, along with the spring rolls (average) seemed like they came out of a frozen Sysco food service container. Still, a very good experience and a good value.

Yum Yai is the perfect comfort food. They have a great and wide selection of Thai food. The owner, Ms. Kay is the sweetest and cares about and remembers her guest. They have recently opened the dining room for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is urban and a family-friendly vibe. This is for sure one of my favorite places. I would highly recommend Yum Yai to anyone.

Yum Yai is the best! The food is consistently delicious, it tastes fresh, isn't overloaded with saltiness like some other Thai restaurants I've tried, and the staff is extremely friendly. Kay is always so nice when we visit. They just remodeled and are now open for inside dining as well.Definitely give them a try if you've never been!!

One word- excellent! Driving up from Auburn to BHam and decided to stop here for lunch. We ordered calamari and basil rolls before realizing you get soup and spring roll with the lunch special. Glad we did though because it gave us the opportunity to realize how delicious the fried calamari was. Very tender! Both of us got the chicken pat-see-u. It was a little sweeter then we like it but the quality of the ingredients and flavor more then made up for it!Side note - on busier days like Fridays and Saturdays you might want to call ahead to see how busy they are as seating is limited.

I am really surprised by the strong reviews for this place. Service was pleasant for takeout but the food was poorly seasoned / bland. Tried the shrimp drunken noodle and chicken lo mein for our meals. Tasted like the food was boiled and then the sauce was just poured over it instead of being cooked in the sauce. When I get thai food I expect spice and flavor. Will not be returning to this establishment.

We’ve never had bad food here…until now. The child’s chicken was BURNED. we are beyond disappointed with it. The chicken literally cracked in half and you couldn’t even tell there was chicken inside. It was so crunchy that it was hard for even adults to chew, let alone an 18month old.

We found this place after they moved to the 280 location (from the Southside). It’s a wonderful restaurant with very friendly staff and very good food.Due to the pandemic they only do carry out orders and thus their menu is somewhat limited. We often order Thai Basil Spicy Fried Rice, Penang chicken, Thai Fried Rice and spring rolls but everything is really good.I highly recommend this place!

Have frequented this place for many years at current and previous location downtown. I love the spicy basil fried rice and massaman curry - I get both with chicken. Great ingredients, flavors, and portions.

Ramen is now a new menu item just in time for Fall! I ordered the miso ramen and have finally found a go-to ramen joint without having to go downtown. Everything about it is really well balanced. Broth is excellent, not too strong, pork is plentiful and cooked perfectly, and the egg will leave you wanting more. Really looking forward to trying the Tonkatsu next!

Truly a fantastic place to eat! Staff is welcoming and food is amazing! I honestly have a hard time staying away. Looking forward to the next time I go!
