I have not had a bad meal yet from Yo Mama's. The employees make sure you feel at home while you are there... like you are part of their family. They are very respectful. My last meal from there was a To Go plate of Chicken and Waffles. Even though the plate sweated by the time I got to my destination, the food was still on point. The homemade syrup and hot sauce was awesome. Stomach is stuffed and happy.
I have been celiac for 10+ years and my granddaughter was recently diagnosed. This photo tells you exactly how good the GF food is. Yo Mama’s is absolutely amazing and our favorite restaurant!
I had the hot wings, and my fiancée had the fried shrimp. Everything was flavored well and everything was fresh. You can taste it! Definitely made with love. Will come here again!
Shrimp and grits are the best!!!! Catfish is good too!!!! Great service and friendly!!!!!
Great place for lunch in downtown Birmingham. This was my first visit and the food was excellent. I had the daily lunch meal which was a breast of chicken stuffed with artichokes and spinach in a creamy sauce. This was accompanied by steamed broccoli and cheesy mashed potatoes. Like I said, excellent. My wife chose the fried chicken wings with french fries. I highly recommend Yo Mama's.
I first discovered Yo Mama's when driving down to Mardi Gras. I would crawl on my hands and knees from Ontario Canada for this food!Not only do they offer gluten-free chicken and waffles, but you can choose between chicken tenders and wings. The sauce that comes with this magical combination will bring tears of joy to your eyes. Savoury but also with a hint of sweetness.When I arrived this year, the owner even recognized me from my trip in 2020. Wow!She had GF mac and cheese. She asked if I wanted an order and I told her, "Hell yes I want some!" They had also made some...get this...GF deep-fried oreos. I also added those to my order.The indoor dining room was not open, but I happily took my order back to my car and ate there. My diet is usually keto, so I told myself I would only eat one of the deep-fried oreos. Nope. They were so damn good....like the funnel cakes of my youth before I found out I couldn't eat gluten. I kept picking until they were both gone.The mac n cheese was to die for and the chicken tenders and waffles made me want to weep with joy.I'm already looking forward to stopping in on my Mardi Gras 2023 trip. Yo Mama's should have their picture beside comfort food in the dictionary. NOT to be missed!

After watching an episode of Fresh, Fried and Crispy on Netflix about this place. I had to try it. I ordered the Chicken and Waffle. It didn’t disappoint. Chicken was super crispy and the waffle was very good. Service is good. FYI, outside dining only.
The food is absolutely delicious. The customer service is awesome. I even got to meet the owner she is incredible and I hope they are opening a location here in Atlanta
I had their food catered at an event and omg it was so good. The wings and waffles, whatever that butter and cinnamon butter sauce, fruit topping, green beans, fried fish, shrimp and grits.
