I simply love Classic coffee shop vibes!! When I go to a new restaurant I always say, "It's my first time here." Not for congratulatory reasons but to let the person know, I might need help. I asked the cashier if I could substitute the ham for turkey in the ham and cheese croissant and add an egg. He answered it and was able to accommodate. I then asked about a smoothie and asked for him to create the smoothie out of their options. Paid for my order went and sat down with friends. The breakfast sandwich was brought out with my friend's order. I guess the server thought that it was apart of her order. It had been placed in the Pani press and was pretty flat. It didn't look like a croissant at all! They did that in order to melt that particular cheese. It was lukewarm by the time we realized it was mine. My friend asked about my smoothie. I went inside and it was sitting on the counter. The young man was like, "I hope that you like it? Can you tell me what you taste?" I said to him, "With the options that you offer, you can't mess up a smoothie!" Other than these 2 hick ups, I'll be back!!
Seems like they're trying to be Starbucks. People camp here for hours on end slowly sipping a coffee or frou frou drink. When in for a bite and a quick meeting and the same people that were there when we arrived where they're only left. Don't think I'll be going back
My son had the misfortune of dropping his smoothie the second we stepped outside. As always, great customer service from the ladies who immediately replaced his beverage without hesitation. The elderly gentleman who assist on site is always very pleasant and great to converse with. Great environment and the perfect place to stop while visiting railroad park or downtown Birmingham in general!
If your missing the ambiance of a coffee house that produces a genuine cup of Joe, this is the spot. The froth alone speaks to the quality of their product. We also ordered Jasmine tea, the aroma and flavor of the tea was great. This location offers a brief breakfast and lunch menu. The grits are creamy and the texture contains the organic grit. The surprise was the " schmear" or cream cheese for the bagel. We tried the chive, which also included bacon. Hands down it was a delicious accompanimentGreat vibe in this coffee house, its right across from the railroad park.
The lattes here are always on point. I also love that they serve them in real mugs (if you get it dine in). I always love it when I get to go here!

First time trying Red Cat. Loved the avocado toast AND the homemade pop tarts. Great coffee. The natural lighting from the windows was also a great vibe. Good spot to work, meet a friend, or grab something to go.
Way better than your big box coffee shops.

Checking out coffee shop reviews and decided to try The Red Cat. It has a great coffee shop vibe, lots of coffee choices and some cool signature lattes. I ordered the Bengal, which was dark chocolate and caramel, and asked to have it made 1/2 as sweet. It was still pretty sweet, but very tasty! I sat outside since I had my dog with me, and it was nice, if a little loud due to the traffic. I will definitely return.
