This little coconut drink was absolutely delicious!!! I told the bar tender coconut, pineapple, and rum and this concoction was perfect! ??
Terrific little local bar. Friendly and skill bartenders can whip up your favorite mixed drink or serve up a cold beer. Not a huge outdoor area but gets the job done and a nice option. Be sure to check it out!
Wasn't aware about the limited seating going in so here's your heads-up! Drinks were high quality ? it can get pricey but it is certainly a cool place to go with friends. We went for drinks after a dinner date, and I will say I didn't love the lack of single or couple seating options. Awesome old-fashioned ?
I visited a handful of times when I lived in BHM a few years ago, and I always enjoyed it. Made a stop in the city on a road trip with my sister and sister-in-law and insisted we have drinks here. Laid-back but a bit elegant, and the drinks are always so good. Just give a little guidance on what you want, and the talented bartenders deliver on it. Best drink of the night…My sister wasn’t feeling great, they suggested a herbaceous digestif, and she said she immediately felt better. My blackberry whiskey drink was a close second in taste! The only things to note are that it’s a small place so not a ton of seating, and it is more expensive than other bars. To me, still very much worth the visit for cocktail lovers and novices alike!
Wish we could have stayed longer. Great atmosphere but they did last call at 10pm. People were still ordering drinks when our server told us this. Drinks were good though.
Whatever you do...do not order the grilled cheese. One word: Cinnamon.3 drinks and a sugary sweet grilled cheese for $55. Not the best moment at a bar and....eatery? No, that would imply the food was edible. I felt as though my 8 year old niece was in the kitchen. We were offered chex mix. Well hell, while we're at it where's the Kool-Aid? Grilled cheese with tomato cinnamon jam, and a waitress that I thought was dead halfway through the evening. At a speed of 1 drink an hour, I can only hope the rest of the menu is amazing.
I've been going to Collins a while, around since when they first opened. And while I've never frequented enough to be a regular, I have been here a lot. If I want to have a cocktail made well, in a lower key bar, this is where I go. I like that you can find small incognito tables in the back, larger round tables to accommodate groups in the front, and bar seating at the bar and near it. I recently visited post pandemic, and am happy to say, the service was still good as well as the atmosphere. I can't speak on the cocktails in detail (I kept it very simple), but I suspect those are still at a high standards as well.
Fun atmosphere. Great drinks. Friendly staff.I love that I can just give the bartenders an idea of the taste I'm wanting and they give me phenomenal drinks every time.
