My favorite neighborhood sushi spot. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I asked for Uni and they ordered Uni (sea urchin). If you have not tried it, it's fantastic.
Be careful when you use a card cause they will add their tip to it even when you don't approve it. Went there the other day. Total was $69.03 pending in my account. When it posted, $72.03. waitress got her an illegal $3 tip. Service wasn't good or worth the tip therefore I drew a line through tip. She didn't understand the menu and our food sat at the sushi bar 10 minutes before we got it. Went today to get it fixed and the other lady at desk acted like she didn't know what I was talking about and acted like it was my fault cause I didn't tip. She took my # and said she would call me when she could "figure" it out. I'm counting it as a loss and BBB will be hearing from me. Be careful and watch your money!
Very very welcoming, friendly, nice and attentive staff.Food is great, tasty and fresh!Very fast service. Been there a couple of times, plus ordered take out as well...
Sushi Village is one of our favorite sushi restaurants in Birmingham. The ambiance is not the best as it is in a strip mall, but it’s great for taking the family out to dinner or picking up to eat at home. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful. The sushi is top notch. We usually order the deluxe, edamame, and seaweed salad. The value for the sushi at Sushi Village can’t be beat in Birmingham.
Spicy maki combo tastes very good. Staff is accommodating and attentive. I've gotten kind of spoiled on the edible flowers and exceptional presentations... So I felt like the presentation was somewhat lacking.
Very disappointed. I ordered shrimp tempura for my appetizer and what I received was 2 pieces of cold shrimp, 1 old fried slice of cucumber, 1 old fried broccoli stem, 1 old onion ring, and a fried slice of carrot. WTH! This has to be a joke right?
Best sushi I'm town! Service always great and the food presentation is fabulous.
Be wary if you order from here through DoorDash, etc. I ordered a $32+ Sushi, Sashimi, and Spicy Tuna Roll combo for my wife and I and instead was delivered a (half the price, per the receipt left in the bag..) $16 "Spicy Maki Combo", which was just 20 or so Spicy Tuna Rolls. Definitely not what I ordered, or even priced close to it. They clearly didn't pay attention to anything I entered in the "Special Request" section either...
Best sushi/Japanese in Birmingham, probably best in Alabama. Food has always been the best quality, service is kind and timely. Never had a bad experience and I've been a regular for years.
This used to be my "go to" spot for sushi, but tonight's a little disappointing. I haven't been back in 8 months, so I don't know if there have been changes in kitchen staff/management, but the menu is different and some of the nigiri/rolls I liked are no longer available. Service was also super slow, but I'm chalking that up to nobody wanting to work anymore.
