The smoked chicken thighs with white sauce are delicious! It’s as if the angels came down from heaven to sing on your shoulder while you eat them. ? The shrimp and grits are really good as well!
Food was amazing! Started with appetizers boiled peanuts and deviled eggs. Then all my favorites on one plate….pulled pork and greens on bed of cheese grits, topped with fried onion rings. So good went back the next night and had the same thing!

We had a great experience, Awesome BBQ! We ordered the chicken thighs appetizer and it may be the best smoked chicken served with red or white sauce we have eaten. My pulled chicken and greens entree was also great, and the cheese grits were amazing too topped with onion straws. The sampler platter my husband enjoyed! Definitely recommend this restaurant, great service!
I would rate this 10 stars if i could. In a world where people are frenzied over mediocre chicken sandwiches, the colonel is the sandwich that sets the bar for what a good chicken sandwich can be. It is simply the best chicken sandwich I have ever tried. You could eat the chicken by itself all day everyday and it would still be better than anything you've ever had. Add the white bbq sauce and the pimento and you have a reason to find a reason to visit Birmingham whenever you can.

My wife and I went to eat lunch here because of a friend's recommendation, and we didn't have any expectations when we arrived. But guys. This is the best BBQ I have ever had! The pulled pork was so tender and not overly-sweet. The baked beans and slaw were likewise not incredibly sweet, but had a sort of twang to them. Not to mention the banana pudding was also the best I've ever had (and they even chilled their dessert spoons, what attention to detail!). Please please please eat here if you ever find yourself in the area!
I was in town back in September for a festival and we got up Saw’s on the way to day one. Holy smokes chicken thighs Batman. These bad boys were so good, I’m still thinking of them months later. So damn good. Cool vibe, great staff, I don’t know much about Birmingham but if I’m ever back in town, I’m going to Saw’s first.

Everything we had at this place was so delicious— mac and cheese, grits, collard greens, hot chicken sandwich. Seriously amazing food. We had Southern cuisine several times during our vacation but this was probably the best.They have a check out counter off of a small courtyard with a few tables if you want to eat outdoors. You don’t even have to go inside to order. Located in a hipster area of Birmingham not far from hip coffee shop, cat cafe, trendy boutiques. Easy parking on the nearby residential streets.
