Best fried pickles I’ve very had. The sweet tea chicken sandwich was lightly breaded with a ton of flavor. The smoke chicken thighs were very tender. Meet fell right off the bone. All the reviews were accurate, quality ingredients at reasonable prices. Very impressedKeep it simple

YAAAAS! Great food with actual flavor, no cardboard cutouts here. The burgers are just like Dad grilled at home - thick, juicy, and perfectly cooked to order. The deviled eggs make a perfect accompaniment, with their mountain of yolk perfectly updated with peppers. Brined with sweet tea and pickle juice for a full 24 hours and pounded to a perfect sandwich size, the sweet tea fried chicken puts my mother-in-law’s chicken to shame … but please don’t tell her I said that! The BBQ pork sandwich doesn’t work as a sandwich … too juicy and waaay too much tangy BBQ sauce to pick it up and eat it like a sandwich but it’s worth the trouble to use your fork and knife. And did I mention that the deviled eggs make a great side dish? Yeah, don’t forget them. The mac ‘n cheese was also good but … sorry but I must be honest … pretty standard fare. But the best culinary creation in the place … the fried pickles! Unlike other places, they slice’m thin so they are actual crispy, breaded pickles with a killer horsey sauce. No limp, soggy appetizers these - they are perfectly crisp and have ruined me for fried pickles anywhere else. Seriously. Been here twice and the service is consistently great … friendly, sassy, but very helpful when you’re trying to choose between several appealing options. Madeline was terrific and we didn’t want for a thing … attentive, friendly, and lots of fun. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere casual. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!
Saw’s Juke Joint is one of our favorite bbq restaurants in Birmingham. You can eat in or pick up, and it’s all good. We usually order the chicken baker with broccoli or the pork and greens with friend onions on top. The sweet tea chicken sandwich is also excellent. If you’re looking for a premier bbq experience on Birmingham, Saw’s is the spot. Enjoy!
The fried green tomatos are out of this world DELICIOUS!!! Get them as an appetizer and you won't go wrong! Potato Salad was awesome as well with small pieces of potatoes mixed into this flavorful dish. They serve the meats with a special BBQ sauce of their own that is very good, although we favor a more traditional sauce from the KS City area that is sweet and sticky. Cheyenne was our waitress and she was a delight!!! Very personable and friendly ?
In my travels and searching this is the best pulled pork BBQ I've had. BUT if you find yourself here you MUST have the Butterscotch Bread Pudding. Absolutely the BEST dessert I've ever had.
I got the smoked chicken thighs!!! As always, because this is my MOST FAVORITE bbq item in all of Birmingham. The skin is crisped to perfection, while the thigh meat remains juicy. Plus the blend of traditional and white bbq sauce sets it up to be one of the best chicken thighs you will EVER put in your mouth. Seriously!
Very good! The band was great and so was the food. We got seated quick and it was very relaxing.
What a meal. Shared the pork and greens, which was a ludicrously delicious stack of grits, greens, pork and onion rings and our server brought us out some of that banging Bama white sauce, what a combo. had a side of fried green beans and finished off with banana pudding. Great amount of food to share. Awesome service, and super cool vibes. Will be back when we pass through!
Always great food and service! Saw’s Juke Joint definitely has more of a locals only feel but in a good way that makes everyone feel welcome. Great bar area!
