I realized I had been to this coffee shop when they used to have a location in Chattanooga! While I loved the ambiance, the coffee was just okay. I decided on a pour over, because they were out of all alternative milks, and it was not worth the price. But the staff were great, and the space was great for studying and hanging out.
Great coffee (and teas.) Great food. Great staff. Emphasis on the last part. Felt like I was hanging out at a friend’s kitchen counter drinking great coffee and having a conversation. Best coffee shop in downtown Birmingham.
Decent coffee, but bring a to-go cup or noise-cancelling headphones. The acoustics are perfect for the most obnoxious baristas in Birmingham. And, of course, their five friends drinking free coffee, giving everyone their free thoughts about the ear-drying Irish-Celtic and Chad Kroeger playlist.Don’t expect to hear them mumble that your drink order is ready, but do expect to hear them shout every last detail about last night’s stress dream.
I thought this was a great place to hang out on a cold Saturday morning. The staff was friendly, the coffee hot and tasty, the environment comfortable, and the bacon cheddar biscuit delicious. I’ll definitely visit again when I’m attending events at the Alabama Theatre or Lyric, but it’s really worth the trip on its own accord.
Plenty of seating for a narrow store, good vibe. Music switched from country (Willie Nelson) to trap and both felt natural to the setting. Busy, but short wait time as people seem to spend time here.Went on a saturday.
Great central location to meet up and chat. Directly across from McWane science center and just down the block from Alabama Theatre. The Chai Latte was perfect as was the atmosphere. Looking forward to going back.
Cool shop! No line and easy to order. I ordered two lattes to go and the total was $11; I tipped a $1 to make it an even $12. When the two lattes came they were TINY. Like ten ounces total for each one. That was the biggest size that had apparently. It tasted wonderful. I walked back to our hotel with them and my friend was like “wow…that’s like a coffee sippy cup”. Coffee tasted great. But come on…a shop should make a bigger latte for that price.
I hit up coffee spots when I travel. Their coffee is f'ing amazing. A must stop if in Birmingham.
i was not expecting the interior to be as aesthetically pleasing as it was. the pictures don’t really do it justice. i recommend visiting and taking 30 minutes just to relax and enjoy your exquisitely prepared brew of the day.
