We stopped in this place, as it was recommended to us to try if in the area. Was surprised at the short wait time, maybe 15 min and seated is to a table. A waitress immediately came and took out drink orders. We decided upon the Boudin, stuffed sausage as the appetizer and placed that order as well. We waited for 10 min to get in our entrée order to give us time to enjoy other things. They brought out fresh homemade bread and whipped butter that was excellent. The appetizer was brought which had a excellent seasoning, my girlfriend then received her salad, which was extremely fresh and the honey flavored bacon was a real treat in the salad. Our tea glasses did get a little low at times, tea had a decent flavor yet was a tad on the weak side. My entrée was brought out before we could finish the salad and appetizer even waiting a extra 10 min to order, this was disappointing. We shared everything we ordered including the entrée, it was however delicious, the white wine sauce on the Mahi was popping! All in all a great place, great atmosphere, give it a try at least once.
Highly recommend for anything seafood related if you are in Birmingham! The staff were extremely personable, the restaurant was immaculate, and the food was spectacular. Highly recommend!
Used to be good food and great service. Always order my favourite aeafood Gumbo, this time there is no oyster, used to have oyster in their gumbo. cat fish was good not great. Looks like quality not as good as usual…
Where to start. My mother called this restaurant a few days ago asking if she could make a reservation for 5 today, Saturday at 5pm. Was told by whoever she spoke to on the phone they do not accept reservations. Funny, I go online to pappadeaux general site and they offer reservations until you search the Birmingham location Anyway, we arrive around 4:30pm on a Saturday with not a single place to park. Had to drive around several times and catch someone leaving. Red flag #1. Walk in and ask how long the wait is and are told 1hr to 1 1/2 hours. Do you see why reservations are helpful? There was a patio full of dozens of people waiting for at least an hour to be seated. We did get some bar drinks while waiting and they were good. Once we finally got seated about an hour and a half later, it took a while for anyone to even come ask for our drink orders. We ordered apps and dinner at the same time and everything came at the same time. Crab dip was room temp. Shrimp and grits were good. We spend about 3 hours at this place and for the price, service just didn’t match. This was my second time coming, prob won’t come back. Be aware if you come on the weekend, wait is RIDICULOUS and they specified to my family they don’t take reservations.

got seated. asked for service after 20 minutes mgr took order got it completely wrong. no one knew who was supposed to wait on us the whole time will never be back. it's the one thing we look forward to each trip to Birmingham
I had a large party so I won't complain about the wait time. The food tasted great and our server Preston was courtesy and helpful. A+
Pappadeaux is always delicious! This was my first time to have a salad, and it was great! The baked potato was a big as a nerf football! The blackened talapia was delicious too Our waitress, KD Davis, was excellent! Five star service and five star food.
Thankfully, I can finally take this restaurant down as one of my favs and not travel far and wide to get to one because today made that happen! The restaurant chain should be ashamed! They have made the platters smaller and the prices higher. Service was awful! Had to beg for forks, napkins, etc. The food was the pits. I have no clue what has happened here, but they definitely lost a customer today. This service and food was pitiful and served up with a $130 ticket for 2 people and a teenager with nothing worth eating!!!
My favorite bartender is Shay! Every drink she made was perfect, she was always busy and still maintained great customer service! And recommended great entrees (The crawfish pies were AMAZING) Next visit to Alabama I will be going to pappadeaux on a night Shay is working!
