Had that full salmon with rice and two eggs. The breading tasted like hushpuppies and the seasoning was so perfect. Can't wait to go back!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city..great breakfast/brunch. Family owned. Historical location. I love their liver and onions for brunch. Also have Great pancakes.Really everything tastes good there. The people there are great. History is literally on their walls.
Excellent food and quick service. This restaurant has better food for half the cost compared to most breakfast restaurants around Birmingham, Homewood, and Mountain Brook. Dude at the front was cool and the lady cooking in the back is amazing. I don't review places often and Nelson Brother's Cafe deserves this review and your business.
Salmon was aweful. The rice was hard and cold. I ordered chicken and gravy expecting to see chicken smothered in gravy. I got 3 half done oversized wings with gravy poured on top .

food was cheap reasonable but food was tasteless didn't even have butter on the toast, salmon cakes didn't taste like salmon grits was watery and lumpy
Grits were watery, bread was dry I wish it had butter on it. Just given utensils no salt and no pepper and the salmon croquettes absolutely did not smell even close to fish.
Antrice is mother, cook, and owner who makes some incredible food for a reasonable price. Topping it off is the history of the restaurant and what it means to the community.
