Cocktail Bar Pizza

Great atmosphere. Laid back rooftop bar, 2 seating sides with a DJ. They did offer quick food bites. A great mix of drinks and they will make drinks not on their menu.

This Rooftop bar and lounge is a great spot for a light outing. They serve wood-fire oven cooked pizza. It is delicious. You can bring cake or dessert with you to celebrate an occasion. The outside lounge areas are quaint and laid back. The inside of the bar area is Southern delight at its best. This is a very nice spot to have a drink and watch the mid-day views of Birmingham or the night skyline. You are sure to enjoy.

One of those places where the staff rush you as though you’re supposed to fall in line with the effect that they’ve got too much to do than to have anything other than your most prompt requests. There’s a tattooed up heavy set-ish girl working there who will get liquored up with the clientele she likes- but I’m thinking she may have a mood disorder cuz she seems to randomely flip her vibe on people from what I’ve seen. Just slighting random people for what seems to be no reason. I lost my fave necklace and visited early in the evening to se if it had been found- I saw her standing behind the bar, not doing anything, and began asking her if she recalled when I was there when all the sudden she just she rolled here eyes and looked to the side. I really didn’t know what to think- so I asked if she was okay and told her it seemed like she was going to pass out or something- to which she didn’t reply. Then another guy steps in front of her and asks what I want… I was totally off balanced and said “well, are you available for me to ask a question?” He said yea- and then all the bartenders looked at me, and I said “is something weird happening? What’s going on?” Then he made rushing hands and said “yea what do you want what do you want??” I asked about my necklace and they told me the downstairs desk handles lost and found. Was gonna eat there but felt like I was extremely unwelcomed for the fact that I guess I didn’t just pretend that the waitress didn’t roll her eyes and look away from me mid-sentence?? It was really weird. I don’t know if she was hammered or what but didn’t seem like they were upset to see me go. Shame because that balcony is so fun but I don’t reckon I’d go back. I travel all the time and find that staff is always a product of top-down energy. That was two for two so I’m thinking it’s one of “those places” where the jerk owner hires jerk staff.

The views are amazing but we just couldn’t get past the drinks… we paid $35 for two drinks that were so bad we could barely drink them. They used to be so much better here

Great location, friendly staff. Although some of us don't get out a lot and planned to hang there tonight to celebrate a special birthday. I believe the proper, polite thing to do is to not take someone drink order and then immediately call, last call. One should probably do that in reverse. Give people the chance to decide to go somewhere else if they cannot actually stay and enjoy the drink they just ordered.

Nice views from the top of the Elyton hotel in downtown Birmingham. There is a bar and restaurant on the rooftop and views in all directions. I did not try anything off the menu so I can only comment on the solid views.

The drinks are good and the view is the best but don’t order the food here. This place has declined on the food service. I ordered a pizza and they didn’t care to mention that they didn’t have tomato sauce.. and they served me a stale “pizza” with no sauce. And yes I was charged full price.

Bartenders messed up my tab so i corrected them. The bartender threw a pin at me as i was signing the corrected tabs receipt. After i told him don’t throw anything at me he tried to get security to kick me out because i was “too drunk” after 2 watered down drinks lol. Long story short the bartender did not like being corrected when wrong.

Crazy how I go somewhere for the first time 12/30/21 and my cc’s have different charges than what the receipts reflect…. Upon arrival I go to order a double shot of Hennessy. I was told they don’t accept cash as a form of payment. So I handed over my debit card instead the total was 32.49 according to my receipt. I check my account and there’s a deduction of $39.42… where did the additional expenses come from because I know I didn’t leave a tip. While waiting on an additional person to join me, I ordered 2 pizza’s one being $15 the other $13. The young lady walking around asked me did I want to open a tab or close it out and I stated to close it. She never brought me a receipt for that particular transaction. When my cousin shows up of course she wants a drink so I put it on the same Amex card her drink was $12 and my beer $5… receipt reflex’s a charge of $20.29… yet there are 2 charges on my Amex one being $37.52 & $34.28. None of these charges makes sense far as basic math and taxation. On 12/31/21 I called up there looking for answers because I seen a $1 hold on my Amex which indicated a tab was open that I didn’t authorize and was told by Conner that you all have been having computer issues and for some odd reason the CC don’t always go through when the CC is swiped so he stated that perhaps the waitress manually entered my CC. But if this establishment has been having issues why are y’all refusing cash? Sound like CC fraud is going on at this establishment. On Jan 3 2022 I called one too many times to get answers finally was able to get ahold of someone in the accounting department yet she was suppose to return my call today. Never happened If this issue isn’t resolved on Jan 4 2022, I will take the necessary actions to nip this.

So here’s the deal: The Moonshine Rooftop Bar has a cockroach problem. I mean there were dozens of them all over the small patio. Great view, cool atmosphere, cockroaches everywhere. Honestly we might have overlooked that but the staff was pretty rude as well on several occasions. Try any other rooftop bar before this one. Birmingham doesn’t deserve to be treated like this. Waste of a historic and beautiful location.
