The pork was great. The sauce not so much. Tasted mostly like ketchup. The baked beans tasted like warmed up pork and beans. Won't be heading back.
Took a dear friend who loves BBQ to this legendary place. He loved it.Bucket list completed..Seems most people opt for banana pudding but I must say that the true old -fashioned double boiler coconut creme pie with fresh toasted coconut lived up to my child hood expectations.Perfect memory for 2 old friend!
Ribs were fall off the bone &great with their red bbq sauce which reminded me of home and chicken was delicious with the white BBQ sauce just the right amount of vinegar ? delicious and I can't stress this enough get the BANANA PUDDING even if you think you don't need it get it
ALERT: TOP TEN ENTRIES FOR BEST BARBECUE CHICKEN DISH, BEST BARBECUE SANDWICH NATIONWIDE. In Southern Living's 2019 top fifty ranking of southern BBQ, Miss Myra's scored #49. It is certainly worthy of a place on the list. We laid out $27.50 for a small smoked chicken sandwich with a side of deviled eggs, a loaded potato also topped with chicken, a half pint of banana pudding, and two refillable iced teas. The potato was so large that it would have satisfied both of us, but the smoked chicken sandwich, with or without the outstanding Alabama white sauce, was the star of the show. You will taste the smoke (indeed, you will take it with you when you walk out the door of this classic roadside cafe), but it is just a part of the top notch flavor profile. And the meat is as moist as it is tender. We enjoyed both the deviled eggs-- an unusual item in 'cue joints nationwide-- and likewise the banana pudding. We look forward to a return visit in the fall, when we'll sample the ribs and pies.
Quirky restaurant, and a nice place to eat or to take out. Not formal but great food. Fair prices, good variety, large servings.
Fantastic hole in the wall. Pit BBQ done right!. Make your way here and even if you don't have room make room for the desserts!!!
I got the pleasure of having Miss Myra's granddaughter take my order and serve me. Friendly and straight forward with the menu. If you are looking for something frilly this isn't it.. Good old fashioned Alabama BBQ with banana ? pudding made from scratch. This is the CHEERS of BBQ everyone knows your name and face of your a regular and there is no shortage of regulars here. I had the combo plate with 2 meats (chicken and pork), chicken was awesome, pork a little dry but great smoke flavor and when I added some red sauce it juiced it up ?. Baked beans has a good taste with what seems to be a hint of honey.. I did get the banana pudding for desert and it was absolutely delicious. It was nice to relax and people watch while Myra and her team interacted with customers and served them up some great food.
First visit. Delicious! Best Alabama White Sauce. Saws wins out in the red sauce. 38 years in same location. Lots of recent publicity on web feeds.
Outstanding BBQ. Fall off the bone ribs. Try the chicken with white sauce. Banana pudding is awesome.
Pretty good food overall. I ordered the ribs, and they were excellent. The people working there were nice enough. The options for sides weren't bad, though the lack of fries were disappointed. The restaurant wasn't spotless, but it wasn't particularly dirty either. The drink options were nice as well. Overall it was a good experience if you're in the area
