The best Korean BBQ and sushi around. The owner and wait staff are outstanding as well. Please go support this local, family owned business- you will not be disappointed. Thank you Don and your team for 16 years in Birmingham.
One of my new favorite restaurants. The food is delicious! It's a little pricey but worth it if you want a neat and out of the ordinary dining experience. We had both the Korean BBQ and the sushi and both were top tier. You have the option of regular dining or using the special BBQ table which I like. Looking forward to trying more items from the menu.
Waited for over an hour to receive our order.Salad was iceberg lettuce only with a watery dressing.Entre was Luke warm. The other items were not fresh tasting.Took forever to receive our check..We will not be back. I’m sorry for this low rating but I believe I’m being fair and honest. I had high hopes for this restaurant.
This place is great! Quick and easy Lyft ride from the strip if you’re here on business or pleasure. Friendly staff and amazing food options. I wanted to take a picture before, but I couldn’t help myself once the food arrived. Highly recommend
As a chef myself,I hate giving a one star review. Most are left by angry greedy customers. But I can’t in good faith leave Ginza any higher of a review. The miso soup tasted like it had been made with dirty water and that was about the only flavor to it. We ordered the Gal-be and Bul-go-gi for two for $35. It would be charitable to say we got more than 4oz of ribeye, and three massive pieces of short rib.Gal-be must be cut thin or it gets very tough. This Gal-be was 1/4 inch thick and very tough. I would expect more meat or higher quality for what we paid. The worst part to me however was the sides. Or lack of sides to be more specific. When you go to Korean bbq you expect a wide assortment of sides, dips, and lettuce to make your meal complete. All we got was radishes, kimchi, and bean sprouts that tasted rotten. It was an all together terrible experience and some of the worst food I’ve ever had. It feels embarrassing to even call it Korean.
Service was fine. Took longer than I thought was reasonable for just an appetizer. Also, I got the spring rolls for my app - they were greasy. The filo wrap they used was more appropriate for an egg roll, and there was more wrap than filling. The prices were decent however. I may return for drinks in the future.
Excellent food. Lunch Salmon portion was a bit small, but still 5 stars. I’ll be back.
Great food & great atmosphere! Love going to this place, it’s a regular for us. Love the owner, Don, and the hardworking team they have. Highly recommend!
I took my 11 year old grandchildren to watch the master at work behind his counter last night. As usual the sushi was fabulous and the experience was a special treat for us all.
Ginza hands down has the best sushi in Birmingham. The spicy tuna is amazing! The Korean BBQ is also a super fun experience for a night out. Super easy to cook, and tasty. I recommend the Ginza bulgogi or the spicy chicken. The steamed rice is super fluffy and good. All of the employees are super sweet and everyone has a smile on their face. 10/10 recommend!
