We had our rehearsal dinner in the upstairs room at east west and I could give endless compliments about how well it went! Their event manager, Mason, was great to work with and made everything extremely easy for us during planning. The food was wonderful, the drinks were great, the staff were all very kind and helpful. It was the perfect evening for us and we are very thankful to their team for making it such a great event!
The food was immaculate. I am in love with the fried cauliflower and the shrimp bowl! I eat here almost every month! The service is incredible and the venue is perfect for going out with friends, having a family dinner or a business meeting.
Loved it! Went in on a whim and was taken to a happy food place after biting into my entree. So tasty and flavorful! Fair pricing for the most part but there are some expensive menu items. I imagine they are quite delicious considering how tasty the less expensive food was. I had the Spicy Garlic Shrimp and let me tell you I would eat it everyday if I could. Service was friendly and accommodating and even went above and beyond. We ordered one last bite and the manager apologized because he realized that we missed the clock by one minute for the chefs to clean up and then came back a short minute later to tell us that the cooks fired up the grill and made it anyways. Such a nice thing to do and was totally unexpected because we understood and we're satisfied with everything we had. Probably best to make a reservation ahead
My favorite restaurant so far in Birmingham. Favorites were spring rolls and BBQ short ribs (small plates). The orange beef rice bowl (and shrimp bowl) were fresh and fabulous. Great sauces and every single item we ordered knocked us out. The coconut bread pudding was a big surprise!
This place is one of Birmingham’s best kept secrets and deserves to be celebrated. The menu is original, fun, and adventurous and the kitchen never misses. They are one of the few restaurants in Birmingham that have wonderful small plates and drinks with entrees to match. The dining room is charming; perfect for date night. My favorites are the nachos, steak, and the coconut bread pudding.
The West wings are heaven sent!
All I can say is the food is outstanding and so was the service great experience.
Coming from out of town and researching the perfect spot for Valentine’s Day weekend, I knew this restaurant was the one. I made reservations at 7pm and already knew what I wanted to order. We got there 20 mins early and they were still able to sit us down promptly.Saturday night was busy, so it was a little loud. But the ambience and decor made up for it. A beautiful mural, red and white Chinese lanterns cascaded across the ceiling, and a red candle on the table added romance.I ordered the Osaka Spritz drink, and my boyfriend got the Silk Road. Mine was very light…couldn’t tell there was alcohol in it but it was still tasty. But I did like his drink better because it was stronger. However I didn’t come for drinks, I’m all about the food! I was so excited when I saw the menu - they have a great selection of Asian fusion food that sounded mouthwatering. We got the soft shell crab bao, short rib bao, shishito peppers, and Korean fried cauliflower. The short rib bao was delicious- nice caramelization and bold flavor. I just wish the bao was warm. Soft shell crab was good too. The lemon flaky salt on the peppers were the perfect touch. Lastly, the fried cauliflower was delicious also but I just wish it was more crunchy. All in all, EastWest did not disappoint. I highly recommend it and would definitely go a second time if I ever find myself in Birmingham again!
We enjoyed a beautiful evening, the food was delicious, the staff were awesome making for a delightful experience.
We had reservations at 7pm, we get to the restaurant and the hostess let us know that our table is not ready as the guest seating at our table has just ordered dessert. As we prepare to go to the bar and have drinks the hostess tells us that we can’t sit at the bar because we have reservations and we would have to get drinks and go outside and wait in 38 degree weather. Poor customer service.
