I've heard great things about this place and tried to check them out last year but decided not to because the line was literally down the block. This time I ordered on-line and that went well. They have a separate line for online orders, so I only waited about 10 min for my order. I don't think they fix the plates before you arrive, so ordering online just allows you to skip ahead. I had 2 chicken & dressing plates and a fried porkchop plate. My sides were fried corn, au gratin potatoes, black eye peas, mac & cheese, and collard greens. The chicken, corn, potatoes, and peas were pretty good. The other food - not so good. The dressing was so loaded with sage and seasonings we couldn't eat it. The mac was dry and this really weird super bright shade of orange. The collards greens had no flavor and the porkchops were tough and over seasoned. I had hoped this would be my new go-to place for soul food. Not sure if I will return and give the other menu items a try. :-(
This restaurant is absolutely the best if you like real down home country cooking!
I love Eagles and I order online. Sometimes with online ordering they get you in and out, but lately it's like ordering in person and it takes forever. One time I picked up for a coworker and they gave her what taste like box Mac and cheese. I ordered the corn, tomatoes and okra and it was their cream corn with overcooked tomatoes and okra.
My vegetable plate was perfect! And the greens…omg! I love that such a delicious place is right in our community.
Its been 5 years since I've had access to their delicious options due to me moving out of state. The other week, I came down n made it my mission to enjoy their food. To sum it up, nothing has changed. From the sweet tea\lemonade mix, to the multiple plates we purchased, everything was on point! Best meal I've had from ANY restaurant in 5 years! Thank you Eagles for your consistency. There's not one high end, 5 star restaurant that can touch your recipes and that's what you'll always be my fav!
It's a No for me! Heading to "Stop and shop" aka Council. 11:30 no meat was available so we ordered the vegetable plate me with turnip greens black-eyed peas, macaroni & cheese, sweet potato pie. The only thing tolerable was Black Eyed Peas!!! The turnip greens are overly salty, macaroni and cheese was horrible. The lemonade is phenomenal and the service is wonderful!
This was my first time eating here, even though I had heard about it. The meal was delicious and the portion sizes were great! I'm glad they've been able to adapt and grow during the current changing landscape of the restaurant industry! Online order, pickup, etc
Garbage! Horrible horrible horrible and a waste of time and money. Lemonade is a joke and taste of chemicals and just sugary, water. People are just greedy and will eat anything. The employees are slow and could care less about sevice.
This food is truly worth the wait if you have at least 30-45 minutes to spare while standing in line, I can promise you the food ,quality and quantity is certainly worth it satisfaction is guaranteed I stamp this one
This place always have a long line outside but its so worth the wait.. the food is delicious and they seem to try and get people out the weather .. could be a little faster ..
