We were married April 29th, 2022. The catering team at Bellinis was a dream to work with. They were quick to respond to all my emails and worked seamlessly the day off the wedding. I had so many compliments from guests on the cocktail hour to the food at the reception to the bar tending services. I would not hesitate to hire again for any event in the future!
Food was awesome! We were celebrating my daughters birthday and she loves Italian food and Bellinis did not disappoint. I got the pork tenderloin special with a side of grilled asparagus. It was so moist and soft. So delicious. My daughter got the chicken parm and she absolutely loved it. Her friend got Chicken Alfredo and devoured it. Wife got the grouper special and it was so good! Will absolutely come back again.
Service was very good, and the idea to forward the menu prior to the reservation was great. What could have been better was 1) dirty rug & entrance floor. 2) lighting was TOO low; ambiance is desirable' but theirs's was just too low, 3) my risotto & seafood dinner had small shrimp & small bay scallops mixed with SLICED Italian sausage, and indiscernible grouper in a bowl, compared to my husbands plate with the same seafood selection very beautifully displayed in large pieces (Seafood Platter). 4) Upon leaving, there was congestion at the small front-door area with people leaving, people arriving, and hostesses desk.
We have been coming here for 11 years and noticed the last several times dishes had a distinct taste that had changed significantly. They have changed chefs but after speaking with the chef I learned they changed the cheeses they used on the Mediterranean chicken and bow tie pastas I believe the precious was an Asiago cheese. Either way the rich taste we have bragged about for years has changed significantly. I am ok with change but after tasting several of the dishes we have grown to love the piccata and many more I am afraid the only reason to visit here would be the white chocolate bread pudding that has been a constant with its rich taste. Please change back to the old recipes
Went for New Year's eve at 7, got in about 7:05. Congested in bar area by front door, but our table was prefect, 4 seats for two of us, a plastic 9 foot tall partition on one side and a ceiling to floor drape on other side, felt great. Waitress fine in beginning, but our entrees came out before my grilled salad, so sent entrees back. Brought out entrees about 8 minutes later, Hub's filet was fine rare, but my grouper on my pasta was steaming, but bowl was super hot from microwave??, got cold waiting for our waitress to bring salt and pepper and knife and cheese to me, pasta cold wouldn't melt cheese, so ate part of it. Drinks were fine and had the white chocolate bread pudding which was quite good. . Never asked if we wanted coffee, just dessert. We were there for one hour and 10 minutes, so kind of rushed for a $140 tab. Will go again on a non holiday night.
The service was great. We had the Shrimp & Grits and the Chicken & Bowtie Pasta. Both were amazing. There were 7 of us, so they put us in a private room.
Stopped here for lunch with friends. We both had lasagna. I had the vegetable lasagna. My friend had the lasagna with bologenese sauce. Both were fresh and hot, flavorful. The service was good and they did a great job of seating customers six feet apart to maintain social distancing. One word of encouragement, make a reservation. There were two couples ahead of that had to wait due to no reservation. Fyi- We made our reservation the day of so its always good to check for availability if you decide to eat here on the same day. Overall good experience!
While spending some time with friends in Birmingham, we visited Bellini's for a magnificent dinner. The meal began with cocktails and fresh bread hot from the oven. (The cocktails weren't fresh from the oven as far as I know.) The bread with olive oil and balsamic melted in our mouths and left us believing we could make a meal of it alone. Appetizers changed our mind. They were even tastier than the bread. We thought we've reached the zenith of the dining experience, but the entrees and wine arrived taking the evening to a whole new level. As much as we treasured the time visiting with our friends, we were all entirely enthralled with out dishes and couldn't take the time to put down our forks long enough for conversation. Convinced the evening couldn't get any better, we ordered dessert ... bread pudding, port, and coffee. Nothing could have topped off the magnificent meal any better than the decedent dessert. Our waitress, Jennifer was delightful and helped us make excellent choices. I wouldn't have changed a thing about the evening, and I highly recommend Bellini's!
Not a fan of the dishes served. Beautiful presentation and good service with a nice atmosphere. The shrimp and grits were bland and extremely sharp tasting. The bow tie pasta was very bland with a heavy flavor of processed artichoke. Not a place I’ll personally give a second chance. Nothing was good. Don’t waste $12 on the Bellini. It was about 5 oz and very flavorless.
The service was the only thing that was good at Bellini’s. The drinks were terrible. (Mojito and Bellini) If they had alcohol in them we never knew it and they severely lacked flavor. The appetizer (formaggio bites) were cool on the inside and crisp on the outside and had a “wang” to them. The “wang” continued to the next course of shrimp and grits and chicken bow tie pasta. We requested salt, pepper and Parmesan to try to assist the dishes to no avail. I managed to eat the chicken out of the pasta along with a few bites of it, but three quarters or more of the dish remained. The shrimp and grits was a small portion and the grits were so pungent my husband could not even finish them. We were not going to spend any other money on another drink or dessert at this point. The server asked if our anniversary dinner was good and I said, “we were underwhelmed.” She retorted that “it was an acquired taste.” You seriously could not feed us these dishes on a daily basis and get us to like or enjoy them. I will say that the ingredients were fresh, even if poorly seasoned and put together. We will never come back. We were so disappointed after reading glowing reviews. To see guests leave that much food after no compliment could be given, to just bring the check without offering a replacement is terrible business. Their menu states that they care about “you as a customer.” We didn’t feel cared for in the least. Our server was overly friendly and prompt, however well versed in having to make excuses for the terrible cuisine.
