Enjoyed a really nice dinner here while staying overnight in Birmingham. The service was amazing. The food was delicious. We had a couple pizzas, the salmon, and then the veggie polenta. Only thing I didn't love - the orzo/veggie side that was served with the salmon was cold, like very cold. I don't know if this was intentional or not. It seemed odd, and I would have preferred it hot. The fish was very nice though.
Great evening of food, service, and charm of the Bottega building. Started with the hummus platter. The hummus was an unusual but delish preparation. It came with crudite and bread that we swooned over! Next were salads. Tasted farmer market fresh and also very good. Next was chicken piccata and a vegetarian spaghetti. Both were flavor bombs. As a mostly vegetarian, I was unexpectedly blown away by this spaghetti flavor. The best I have ever had. As an avid cook, i hope to recreate this as we were visiting from AZ. We will be back! I love old houses architecture and Bottega did not disappoint. The added holiday lights made it even more beautiful.
I haven’t been to Bottega in 15 years, and am SO glad we went back. I took my 20 yo daughter very early on a Friday night (4:00). It kills me that I don’t remember our server’s name. He was SUPERB. There were only a few other seated tables, and our waiter was 100% attentive without hovering over us. The food was nearly all superb. We had a delicious antipasti platter, I had the NY strip (perfect on the inside and seared on the outside, just like I like it), and my daughter had the scallops risotto. The scallops were tender, fresh, and done to perfection. The risotto looked good, but was bland. It was the only minor stumble in a wonderful meal. We also shared a chocolate peanut butter dessert that wasn’t overly sweet. Just the right finish. If I was a teacher, I would give Bottega an A+.
It was perfection from the moment we hit the door. Everyone was warm and inviting. Wonderful atmosphere, amazing cocktails and the food is out of this world. Thank you Mr Stitt for bringing your wonderful restaurants to Alabama.
I met some old friends there. I was told it was on of the best places to eat in Birmingham. The shrimp appetizer was good, but my rigatoni was awful. It tasted as if the only meat was a poor quality of hamburger. It tasted like hamburger prepared for a Taco Bell taco kit. My friend's wife also ordered something that was far too salty. The service was great, but the food was subpar. Will not be going back. For this I spent $150+. Not worth it.
My first visit and I was very impressed! A friend & I met here for a birthday lunch. The white pizza is excellent! I had to try the famed coconut pecan cake -it certainly lived up to its reputation. Delightful!!! Parking is a bit of a pain - if you don't choose to valet you just have to find somewhere along a side street. Everything else was wonderful. I look forward to returning.
My wife had lunch here last week. Iconic food scene restaurant. You first notice the staff and service which is a cut above your average restaurant. Sat outside under roof with fans and we’re comfortable. My wife had a great swordfish sandwich and I tried the chicken scaloppine. Both were very good. I also had a side of field peas and corn which were perfect. Great afternoon for sure.
Best of Birmingham! Had an amazing meal at Bottega!!! Everything was good!! The Halibut, the focaccia, and the peach cobbler is a must!! I’d go back to Birmingham just to go back to Bottega!!
We had my daughter’s 50th birthday party at Bottega Restaurant in Birmingham. I recommend this for a night out or a party such as ours. No one could have been nicer or more accommodating. Our server, James, was so attentive and conscientious. I would ask for his table anytime. Thank you again, James! Great party, Becky!!!
Loved everything about our family reunion lunch. The staff were so accommodating, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely
