This is my first time in the area staying at a great hotel and seeing so many great restaurants near my hotel. I was excited to see this one in particular Asian Cuisine restaurant which I was told the food was very good. I expected to have a great meal when I looked at the menu.However, that wasn’t the case. I ordered my favorite meals, chicken with mixed vegetables and General Tao chicken. I was extremely disappointed with not only the taste but the quality and preparation of both meals. I had more vegetables than than chicken and the chicken appeared to be cut into very tiny pieces.The General Taos chicken had so many very small and hard pieces underneath a few soft pieces which you couldn’t chew. I have never seen that many small pieces of rock like chicken in such a famous named meal. I wanted take back the entire meal and show them what it looked like.But I am certain they knew exactly what they put into both containers when it came to my orders. There is no way a person cooking could not see this during preparation and cooking. Impossible and no excuses for serving such. They should have recooked both meals instead of serving them to me. I won’t spend my money there again. I also recommend you open your containers of FOOD before you leave to avoid the same experience I had.
We had a lovely meal here. All our food was cooked nicely. Place was clean and we had a great time. I had sweet pea vines which I had never had before. I enjoyed them.
Had Thai curry from Surin 280 a few nights ago. I wasn't impressed so I tried it at Black Pearl today for lunch. WOW. Great taste from the soup, the egg rolls, and the curry too. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. If this place is supposed to be a secret I just let it out!
I ordered Mapo Tofu and Vegetables in Garlic Sauce. What I really wanted was plain steamed vegetables, so I know to order that next time. But I have to tip my hat to the serious mala sichuan peppercorn action in these two dishes. It's delicious.
I had really high hopes but was very disappointed in the food especially for the price! My Mongolian beef was literally a pound of onions! Not good!
The staff is always willing to do what it takes to make a customer happy. This is some of the best Chinese in the area. The portions are generous and always seasoned just right. They also have Thai dishes.

This place may become my favorite Chinese place in B’ham! Vast menu, amazing flavors, very affordable, and the owner is so attentive! Will definitely be back!
Ordered thru door dash, was excited to try as rave reviews, got sesame chicken, chicken lo mein and donuts .....taste like some fast food Chinese drive thru , absolutely horrible, it's obviously not cooked to order, don't know if it's covid or what maybe this was a good place, but horrible now..
