This is one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. Both locations I haven eaten at and both were exceptional. The Paan Old Fashion is a must whenever I dine in.
Waited an hour for the food, got yelled at because I asked if they don’t have the curry trays for dinner, and our garlic naan has fresh pieces of garlic instead of what they usually serve. But the food is good!
Amazing food and amazing staff. This place has been amazing every time that I have gone. The food is flavorful and amazing, and ordering it spicy makes it come spicy! I have tried a few different things on the menu and all have been great.
This place used to be better under the old owners. We recently ordered and figured out this place not only cut the portions in half, but they doubled the prices for every dish. Go to ANY other Indian restaurant in town and prices will be half and your portions will be larger. Indian food is NOT supposed to be this expensive!!
Absolutely horribly managed restaurant. No sense of priority. We had a group of 8 and the food was brought out 30 minutes after each other. It was completely unprofessional. The service was subpar and no one assisted us and sat us for a while with no care. Absolutely overpriced and horribly managed. For example, their “Drums Of Heaven” is 4 chicken wings wrapped in foil for 14 dollars. Absolutely outrageous. Prices are incredibly over inflated along with absolutely horrible service. Do not come here this picture of 2 small cups of curry and rice was 20 USD. It’s not authentic eitherMaybe instead of reading reviews while in dinner service get the food out first. Absolutely unprofessional.
When we entered we could see they were busy and were asked to take a seat at the bar. Not a problem. We sat down and waited. After waiting for over 5 mins another couple came a joined us waiting at the bar. However they were given glasses of water and menus straight away. They then got a drinks order taken. We were completely ignored even when I tried to get the attention of the bar staff. We were then shown a table on the ‘patio’ that turned out to be the access alley down the side of the restaurant. I didn’t want to sit here on our own as though we weren’t good enough to sit in the main restaurant. I also explained that we had been ignored and the other couple had drinks. So when we got back to the bar the ‘manager’ gave us glasses of water and menus. But we still couldn’t order drinks. I wanted to leave but my partner wanted to stay. The other couple were then shown to a table first at which point I got up to leave and they came running over and magically found us a table after I explained the situation again. We were then lied too saying that the other couple had a booking for a table which they did not as I over heard them talking and the bar man assumed we didn’t want any drink without even asking. Is this because we are English or because of the way we look and they didn’t want to ‘waste’ their time on us??? When the food came the vegetable korma was only average and the vegetable were a frozen mix. I have worked in hospitality for over 15 years and the level of incompetency has reach new highs at the Bat Leaf. I would avoid this place as they are not in the business of hospitality rather the business of hostility.
This was an excellent little restaurant. From the drinks to the dessert, everything was good. Try the flash fried okra, you won't be sorry. The mixed grill was stupendous as was the butter chicken.
This is a small cozy restaurant with a full bar. First we ordered drinks, bread and an appetizer. The garlic nann was really good and the flash fried okra was excellent. I ordered the mixed grill and my son the butter chicken. We couldn't decided which was better. We will certainly go back.
Best Indian buffet in the Birmingham area by far!! We always eat too much as you can see, it's impossible not to! The owner and staff are very nice and make sure you have everything you need. I'm always surprised there aren't more people here. Everyone here always talks about how much they enjoy the food. They have lots of vegetarian and meat options so no matter what you're eating they have you covered!
Mischarged for meal on 3 items. All we got was a “sorry” and no resolution. Food was good but came out after 40 min when we were the only people in the restaurant.I would recommend Silver Coin or Sitar over this place.
